Richmond, Virginia loses its Borders
Borders Store #92 located at 9750 West Broad Street in Glen Allen, Virginia will be closed, according to the Borders store closure list. This particular Borders store is the only one located in and around Richmond, according to the Borders site. The next closest Borders within 50 miles is the Borders in Fredericksburg, Virginia, a straight shot up I95, which will remain open.
Stafford, Virginia and Vienna, Virginia Borders stores also on store closure list
Stafford will be losing their Borders in this round of closures. Located at 1240 Stafford Market Place, shoppers will need to drive to Fredericksburg, Manassas, Woodbridge or Warrenton to do their book shopping. The Vienna Borders, located at 8027 Leesburg Pike, will also close. However, the Northern Virginia/DC Metro area has several other Borders stores in the area to absorb the Vienna store customer base.
Bad news for Newport News, Virginia

This is very sad...closing near us, too. But maybe if bookstores lowered their prices. I can't spend $30 a book!
It is so sad to see book stores close. Just another reminder of how less people are reading or how they are turning away from conventional books to electronic ones.
My daughter will be sad if they close the one near us.
