Bored? Have a wonderful, sunny day and want to get out and enjoy the beauty of Utah, but don't know what to do? In Salt Lake City for a conference or business meeting and want to go out and get a little sunshine, but don't know where to go? Well, look no further, fun and fresh air is just a hop, skip, and a jump away at Thanksgiving Point in Lehi, UT.

Located just south of the Point of the Mountain on the west side of the freeway, Thanksgiving Point is a wonderful attraction that mixes the outdoors with other wonderful attractions. With beautiful gardens, a rustic restaurant and gift shop, a large movie theater, and one of the country's largest dinosaur bone exhibits, Thanksgiving Point has a little something for everyone to enjoy whether on your own, or with your family.

To get to Thanksgiving Point, just take I-15 to the Alpine Hwy exit 284 and go south on the frontage road. This will take you straight to the entrance. You can't miss its water tower and glowing sign; they're visible for miles.

So, what can you do there? Thanksgiving Point has many attractions and also many special events that you can enjoy during any season. It is broken up into several sections.

The first, and probably most famous, part of Thanksgiving Point is the Museum of Ancient Life. Located close to the main gift shop and the movie theater, the museum is easy to find. Open Monday-Saturday from 10am to 8pm, the Museum of Ancient Life contains many different exhibitions and interactive activities based around one of the largest dinosaur collections in the country. There is also the Mammoth Screen Theater that shows exclusive, educational movies on a giant, 3-D screen. Both attractions are well worth visiting and fun for the entire family. The cost for the museum starts at $7.50 for children and $9.50 for adults. Additional costs apply to the movie screenings.

If you don't want to be cooped up inside all day, Thanksgiving Point offers many wonderful outdoor activities. The gardens are a favorite with many visitors. With acres of beautiful flowers and plants, as well as fountains and meandering paths, wandering the various gardens is a great way to enjoy the outdoors. Thanksgiving Point offers fifty-five acres of different themed gardens to cater to any taste. These gardens include Monet's Garden, based on the famous Monet Paintings and the Secret Garden, based on the children's book where you can find yourself locked away in a secret paradise of flowers and overgrown ruins. There are also the Waterfall Gardens and the Italian Gardens, which will leave you breathless. These gardens and many more await your discovery. The price of entering the gardens is $8.00 for adults and $5.00 for children. This gets you access to all of the gardens that you can spend your day enjoying.

If you want to enjoy a little bit of down home country, consider spending your day in Farm Country. This section of Thanksgiving Point lets you experience life on the farm as you spend your day in the hay and with the farm animals. Farm country allows you to feed and pet farm animals and experience a good old-fashioned hayride. There are exhibits to learn about things like where milk comes from and how to take care of a horse. Children of all ages will enjoy this exiting look into life on the farm.
Farm Country is open from 10am to 8pm during the summer and 10am to 6pm during the winter. Admission to Farm Country is $3.50 for adults and $2.50 for children. This includes one free hayride, but pony rides for the kids are additional.

Thanksgiving Point offers these standard attractions and so much more, being the home to many concerts, swap meets, fairs, and other seasonal activities like Corn Belly's Corn Maze and holiday concerts.
