Borgata and the Water Club Are Ultimate Luxury in Atlantic City

The Borgata and Its Sister Property the Water Club Present Luxurious Accommodations in Atlantic City, New Jersey

Marcia Frost
Atlantic City, New Jersey, is the gambling capitol of the East Coast and for years it all centered on the Boardwalk. The miles that bordered the Atlantic Ocean is the scene of casinos, shopping malls and children playing on the beach. On the other side of town, it's a totally different scene. That's where the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa and The Water Club, its partner tower next door have added a new theme to this Jersey shore location - luxury travel destination.

The rooms at both hotels are contemporary with special touches (like marble bathrooms, even in Borgata's lowest level room) to make it clear you aren't in the Atlantic City of the past. Borgata has a variety of suites, including the 1500 square foot Piatto Suites, with large soaking tubs and multi-media entertainment. The Water Club rooms are ultra modern and larger than expected.

There are a number of food choices within the Borgata hotel complex. For a casual meal, you can eat at The Metropolitan, Bread and Butter, Now or Roma. There's also a buffet, though this one is far from the casino buffet you'd expect, with many choice (and a dinner price tag of $30, so be prepared). If you want to sit down for fine dining, Fornelletto is a fantastic choice for Italian, or else there is the Old homestead Steakhouse, Izakaya for Japanese, Bobby Flay Steakhouse, Seablue and Wolfgang Puck's American Grille.

A hotel in Atlantic City would not be complete without a casino. There is one here, but it's far from the only entertainment option. The Music Box gets such top talent as Sting, the Goo Goo Dolls and Jerry Seinfeld. You can find some lesser known comedians at the Borgata Comedy Club and if you are looking to dance the night away to some renowned DJS while enjoying drinks (with bottle service available), there's MIXX and mur.mur. (Three other bars are available on the premises if you just want to relax with some quieter drinks).

The Borgata and The Water Club each have their own spa. While the one at Borgata (Toccare) looks nice, The Water Club's Immersion Spa is not to be missed. On the two levels you will find any treatment you can dream of (try the four-handed massage to relieve any bit of tension left in your body), a fitness club and the pool. The Pool At Immersion is worth a trip in itself. As you relax 300 feet above sea level in the indoor pool or whirlpool, you will see some of the most incredible views you could imagine of the Jersey Shore. You can fully indulge by ordering some Watermelon Gazpacho or Smoked Salmon Pizette, to go with your Blueberry Basil Smoothie.

Expect to pay a bit more to stay at Borgata and The Water Club than the boardwalk strip, but they do offer a lot of specials and packages, with a sophistication that may make you feel like you are at the gambling Mecca of Monte Carlo instead of Atlantic City, New Jersey.

Though the Borgata and The Water Club aren't on the ocean, they have some of the best views of the water you will find in Atlantic City.
