Borrowed Dreams

Penelope Rain
Light sparkles off the leaves of autumn trees,
Changing intot he colors of a sunset.
Sunlight broken like a million mirrors,
Reflects from the surface of the water's edge.
Like a child's imagination,
The day sprouts another mystery yet to be uncovered;
Because with the dawning of each new day
Comes another adventure waiting to be discovered.
Life sparkles with colors, bright and clear.
There are no boundaries as to where the colors end.
Even as the sun sets the colors stay near.
When the stars begin to sparkle and the black sky is overhead,
The earth awaits to fin the wonders that the day has shed,
Feathers and roses, left over light from the sun's bright glare.
The moonlight reflects off of leather wings
As nature's band begins to sing, an dmusic fills the air.
The the dark creeps up all around,
The music erupts into chords of light.
The moon shines high,
And looks as if to smile at the beauty of the night.
Then, slowly, clouds float in the air,
Rain begins to fall, washing away the trophies of the day.
Now it is time to sleep,
To dream of the adventures that the world will paint tomorrow.
Sleep on the bed of clover the rain could not touch,
And dream of the dawn that the world will soon borrow.
