Bose CineMate Digital Home Theater Speaker System: Product Review

The Bose CineMate Digital Home Theater System is a great stereo system for the movie and music fans alike. If you're the type of person who enjoys listening to music, and/or watching movies throughout the day, then the Bose Cinemate could be just what you're looking for. Especially if the room, where your television or stereo resides, is not that suitable for larger home theater systems. The Bose Cinemate is perfect even for medium-sized rooms in terms of space-saving and working better with this system.

Another great thing about the Bose Cinemate is the ease of setting it up. With only a few quick connections and easy instructions you'll have the speaker system connected and working in no time. In comparison to other home theater systems this Bose system is among the easiest to set up. After setting up the home theater system you can begin enjoying the surround-sound. Even if what you're watching doesn't come in surround-sound the Bose Cinemate's electronics can practically decode 2-channel stereo signals up to six channels. Add that to the sound quality Bose speaker systems are known for and older mediums, such as VHS, can be heard in the emulated surround-sound with the rich Bose sound. Then you also have the universal remote control that comes with the system. The remote should be enough to not only control your Bose system but also your other electronic devices connected to your television and your television itself.

Of course there are the downsides. The first, and most evident, is the price of the device. Which is due to the newer technology, the Bose name itself and the support Bose provides for the system. Another thing is that there is no digital audio input for the American version. Which may be a big negative for those out there wanting to use higher quality digital audio connections. The Japanese version does come with digital input though. Also, if you're looking to use a home theater system in a large room then you may want to do a little more research into different Bose systems or even a different product altogether. The Bose Cinemate speakers also don't come with stands and will cost you a good amount of extra money, over one-hundred dollars, if you do look to get them. When adjusting the volume on the system you may want to set it up beforehand, along with your television's volume, to the perfect level. This is because you can't tell how loud the volume is unless you actually listen since there's no visual way of telling and by not doing this the sound may be too high or too low.

All in all the Bose Cinemate digital Home Theater System is comparable to even more expensive home theater systems. With it's features, audio quality, universal remote and support from Bose then this system is near-perfect in terms of quality. Despite it's downsides, if you're the casual movie or music fan then you'll more than enjoy the Bose Cinemate and find it to be more than enough for your home theater needs.
