Boston Bruins Victory Parade Route -The Best Place to Watch
Boston Bruins Parade Route, Time, T-Schedule, Parking, Street Closings, Traffic Advisories
The Boston Bruins victory parade will wind through the streets of Bean Town on Saturday. The faithful Bruins' fans who wondered if they would ever again see the Stanley Cup make its way through the streets of Boston again, do not have to wonder any more. The last time this victory parade took place for the Bruins was 39 years ago with Bobby Orr waving to the fans of the Boston Common, Copley Square and other locations throughout the city of Boston, according to the Boston Globe.
The parade would kick off at TD Garden at 11 a.m, the officials announced yesterday. This rolling Bruins rally will wind around Boston Common and the Public Garden, into the Back Bay, and finish in Copley Square. The parade will be complete with Boston's famous Duck Boats, 18 of them in the procession. Boston Common and Copley Square will have massive TV Screens set up to watch the coverage of the complete Bruins parade route.
Victory Parades for the Red Sox, Celtics and Patriots have seen up to one million fans come out to support these Boston teams. This should be a good indication of what to expect in Boston tommorrow.
The parade route will be cleared of all vehicles starting at 9am and will remain closed through 1 p.m. During this time parking will be prohibited on dozens of adjacent streets, with most downtown roadways closed.
The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority officials have made arrangements to accommodate crowds, having the T operate at near rush-hour levels through the day. Round-trip commuter rail tickets will be sold for a flat $10 rate at the stations and on the trains. Service to the South Shore on the Old Colony and Greenbush lines, which has been closed on weekends for construction, will resume for the day on a Saturday schedule. Even the Boston Red Sox are rearranging their game schedule for the day to try and accommodate the traffic expected in Boston to see the Bruins. "To ease the anticipated traffic woes, the Red Sox moved their game tomorrow against the Milwaukee Brewers from 1:10 p.m. to 7:10 p.m. The Bruins will visit Fenway Sunday," according to the Boston Globe.
Traffic Advisories: State Police issued an advisory of construction delays in Interstate 93 north of Boston and asked drivers to seek alternate routes. City officials, meanwhile, said parking near the parade would be nearly impossible and urged fans to take public transportation. Officials advised riders to avoid North Station if possible.
