The Boston Museum of Fine Arts is a fabulous place to visit, and the Chihuly exhibit is bound to be extremely popular and a big attraction for the museum.
The Chihuly exhibit will be called "Through the Looking Glass" and exhibitions will include the Lime Green Icicle Tower, The Persian Wall, The Mille Fiori, and the Chiostro di Sant' Apollinia Chandelier. There will also be five other chandeliers in the exhibit.
There will be separate rooms for Chihuly's exhibitions, and one room will contain the Mille Fiori which is more than 60 feet long.
The exhibit at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts will provide visitors an opportunity to view the full range of artistic achievements by Chihuly. Chihuly has an extraordinary vision in glass art that will leave viewers in awe and wonder.
Chihuly's art career began in Venice, Italy as an apprentice for the famous Venini factory. Always fascinated by glass blowing, Chihuly excelled and became very creative with his works. At the Venini factory, he learned the importance of team playing in the art of glass blowing.
In 1971, Chihuly cofounded the Pilchuck Glass School near Seattle, Washington. It is here, where Chihuly leads the avant-garde in the development of glass in fine art. Chihuly was born in Tacoma, Washington in 1941.
After you view Chihuly's artworks at the Boston Museum of Fine Art, you'll understand why he's featured in over 200 museums worldwide and has received eight honorary doctrates and two fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts. He has an extraordinary vision and generally uses free-form with this artwork.
