Boston Newspapers: Heaven for NFL and New England Patriots Sports Fans

The Boston Globe is the largest circulation newspaper in Boston, but on-line, they work in conjunction with a larger site, Boston.com. For everything Patriots, you can't miss if you start here: http://www.boston.com/sports/football/patriots/

There are two Blogs, Reiss's Pieces by the exuberant Mike Reiss and The Boston Sports Blog. You can view Patriot's fan photos, and a Recap the Perfect Season (so far) complete with pictures and stories (anything else you might want to know), along with several other Galleries that will mesmerize photo aficionados. The Patriots Mailbag/Ask Reiss feature is worth reading for a little insight into what is on the minds of local Patriot's fans.

Reiss's Pieces is here: http://www.boston.com/sports/football/patriots/reiss_pieces/

The Boston Sports Blog is here: http://www.boston.com/sports/nesn/wilbur/sports_blog/blog/

The Galleries are here: http://www.boston.com/sports/football/patriots/playoffs/2008/photo_galleries/

Articles/Columns by well-known Boston writers, Patriots video, stats, standings, discussion forums, and everything else Patriots appear as you travel down the page. The Chargers are not forgotten either, with links to articles from the SD Union-Tribune available under Patriots - Chargers: The View from San Diego. No harm in checking out their thoughts about the opposing team - especially when they are quoting the aforementioned Boston Sports Blog and adding a bit more to the controversy between the two teams.

Links to SD Union -Tribune are best followed from the page for current material.

Finally, don't miss Patriots Fan Zone at the bottom of the page! Listen to the Song Parody: Patriots Fantasy and treat yourself to an original video from You Tube of Bad Company's "Rock N Roll Fantasy." Then listen to local radio station, Mike-FM, parody the song as a theme for the Patriots. Enjoy a pause for fun in your pursuit of Patriot knowledge, Coach Belichick won't mind, as long as you play your position at game time.

The Song Parody is here: http://www.boston.com/sports/football/patriots/extras/01_11_2008_pats_song/

The Boston Herald, The paper most likely to be left on the T (local rapid transit) and Commuter Rail. New England sports fans love the Herald for its portability...just the right size to carry along with you and read as the miles (or tunnels) slip by on the way to work.

Somehow, these fans feel no obligation or necessity to take the Herald with them when disembarking from their chosen mode of transportation. Or, maybe, they want to leave it for the next fan that ran for the train and did not have time to grab their own Herald.

The on-line version of The Herald Sports can be found here: http://www.bostonherald.com/sports/

All Boston sports, sports in general, and every major league are represented here, but in concert with the local representative, and not as a separate entity. The NFL link brings you to NFL articles mostly from the Associated Press. One helpful addition is the ability to sort the articles by date.

The NFL page is here: http://www.bostonherald.com/sports/football/other_nfl/

Patriot's coverage is good, if not as extensive as that of The Globe. There are Patriots and NFL photos, 2007 conference standings, The Point After, a Blog written (or, blogged) by the Herald's John Tomase. Tomase, as a native son, should be familiar with the ins and outs of the Patriots and their hometown...an ever-expanding area with the current explosion of Patriots fans - and not-fans.

The Point After is here: http://www.bostonherald.com/blogs/sports/patriots/

The Herald's Patriots Beat Columnist, Michael Felger, plays the role of contrarian with zest, and seems omnipresent on the Boston sports scene. He writes columns, is heard on a daily sports talk show on AM-890, ESPN. He also can be seen as part of a team analyzing the Patriot's games on the local CBS station, WBZ-TV. How does he sleep and manage to keep that sharp wit?

Other featured writers include Tony Massarotti, Steve Buckley, and Karen Guregian. Read them all for an eclectic and entertaining mix of stories.

a shame that the Patriots have perfected their cheating game. Every game is like a script! Now don't get me wrong, like the military, you have to learn your enemy, and each team collects intel on the other but the Patriots have crossed the line with the cheating and collecting intelligence (eves dropping/spy cams, etc! No matter how you look it the Patriots and Belicheck are the real slim (NLF) shady and this season is tainted.....Belichek - how can you live with yourself, you worthless/cheating SOB - WIDEST DISSEMINATION REQUESTED
