Boulder Police Blotter for February 17 - 19; Police Called After Taco Bell Customer was Supposedly Held at Gunpoint

The following is a compilation of the police activity in Boulder, Colorado from February 17 -19, 2009.

February 17

Police officers were preoccupied with traffic control after power temporarily went out due to damage caused by high winds.

Officers responded to routine calls.

February 18

Officers were called to the 1000 block of 30th Street after a man got into an altercation with his girlfriend. The man is accused of smashing a glass patio door, then punching a neighbor who came to his girlfriend's aid. After the man punched the neighbor, the neighbor pulled out a weapon to bring the man under control. After he had calmed down and was on the floor, the neighbor left the home. When police arrived, they found the suspect trying to climb down a balcony. He was arrested and booked into jail on charges of domestic violence-related trespassing and third-degree assault.

February 19

Police arrived on the scene of the Taco Bell at 3210 Arapahoe Avenue after a diner called to say that a male driver in the drive-through was pointing a gun at a female passenger's head. Officers stopped the suspected vehicle in the area of Cherryvale and Arapahoe. After further investigation, officers determined that the couple had been goofing off with a pellet gun. No charges were filed, but Arapahoe Avenue was closed for a time to ensure safety during the traffic stop.

Police were called to the 3200 block of Iris after a 57-year-old man was found dead inside his home. The incident does not appear suspicious at this point.
