Boulder Police Blotter for January 30-February 1, 2009; Police Investigate Sexual Assault Charge

The following Boulder, Colorado, police blotter is a compilation of the police activity in Boulder, Colorado from January 30-February 1, 2009.

January 30

Police were called to the scene of the McDonald's on 28th Street after a man threatened a couple. The man accused a couple eating at the restaurant of taking money from him. He shoved the female customer and attempted to hit her husband when he stepped in. Police arrested the man, charging him with physical harassment and threatening bodily injury. Police believe alcohol played a part in the incident.

Police arrived at 13th and Pennsylvania after a young girl was hit by a Yellow Cab. According to police reports, the school-aged girl ran in front of the Yellow Cab and was hit. The girl sustained minor injuries.

January 31

Police were sent on a wild chase after they were called to the area of 27th and Pine streets where a man was accused of standing naked and dancing on top of a vehicle. When police arrived, the suspect ran. When an officer caught up to him, the suspect acted like he was going to hit the officer. The officer then used his Taser to control the suspect. After the suspect was examined and given medical clearance, he was arrested on possible charges of disorderly conduct, obstruction, resisting arrest and minor in possession of alcohol.

Residents were temporarily evacuated while police and firefighters fought a structure fire in a laundry room in the 1200 block of Elder. The residents were allowed to return after the fire was controlled.

Police are investigating a second-degree assault charge that took place at the Foundry. The victim was hit in the right eye with a beer bottle during the incident. The case remains open while investigators seek out a named suspect.

Officers are currently investigating a reported sexual assault charge that took place in the area of 22nd and Canyon. A woman told police that she was sexually assaulted while staying at the home of an acquaintance. Police believe she knows the suspect. The case remains open.

February 1
