Bounce Dryer Bar Review

Katie Just
I try new things whenever possible. While browsing the Sunday newspaper one week, I found a coupon for a new product I have seen advertising on television, but never before used. It was the Bounce Dryer Bar. While the concept is brilliant, the product itself is lacking in performance. The only good thing I could note about it was the scent.

The product is simple enough. Stick the plastic bottom with attached Bounce bar onto the side of your dryer tumbler, and let it work for about 30 days. The problem with this is that should you decide this product is not something you will continue to use, and remove the plastic device, the adhesive foam strip, which is similar to weather stripping, is still stuck to the inside of your dryer. Not only is it almost impossible to remove, but I broke three fingernails trying to remove the plastic holder from the side of the dryer in the first place.

Aside from defacing a brand new dryer, I noticed when drying dark colored clothing, white residue was left is spots all over my clothing. The first three or four loads of laundry I washed was white or light, so the residue wasn't noticeable, but when I got to the blue jeans and other dark colors, my clothing looked dirty, and at times like someone smeared bar soap on them. I have never had this problem before; this is how I know what the culprit was.

The Bounce Dryer Bar is not as effective on static cling as traditional dryer sheets or liquid fabric softener. Every sweater I owned was stuck to something else in the dryer, and I could have used them as a defribulator should anyone have gone into cardiac arrest while I was on laundry duty.

Although I was not satisfied with the performance of the Bounce Dryer Bar, I was relieved that I didn't spend much money on the purchase. Full price, the Bounce Dryer Bar is less than four dollars. Since I also had a two dollar coupon, I didn't throw away much money. There are larger bars that cost a little more, but I would suggest trying the less expensive, smaller one to make sure you will be satisfied first.

I purchased the bounce bar dryer with excitement I wouldn't have the disposables in our underwear anymore! Too my dismay, the first time we used it, it fell off and left black "skid" marks all over the inside of my dryer! It sounded like someone had put a pair of shoes in there to dry! I'm very disappointed and am going to request a refund..it's not a good thing!
