Main Review
The game is simple in concept: the player needs to help his character, Bounce, 'bounce' back to his owner. It is a lot like the classic Mario run-and-jump game mechanism. Various enemies come at Bounce in every game level, obstacle and hazards pop up to try and stop Bounce from getting back to his owner safely.
This is a 2D platform game created by Team Phobic for the iPhone and iPod Touch. It is a thoroughly entertaining game, with a distinctive style, a very cute character and equally wonderful graphics.
The game controls are straightforward. Players need to tilt the gadget in order to roll Bounce around. In order to get Bounce to jump, players need only to tap the screen. The height of the jump can be controlled by holding a tap. Game controls are not customizable, but they work extremely well as they are.
Several enemies come against Bounce to challenge him - caterpillars, blue balls, little enemies that follow Bounce's footsteps, among others. When in the game, players need to jump and land on the enemy to cause damage and eventually destroy it. Power-up is also available - these provide Bounce with added abilities to aid him in defeating the enemies and get through the level unscathed.
The game levels are separated into different worlds, three to be exact. Each level has a certain degree of difficulty, which may affect completion time. Players need to reach the end of the level safely in order to proceed to the next succeeding level.
This is an extremely entertaining little game - it has great graphics, awesome sounds, excellent game controls and great replay value.
Pricing
The game is available for purchase on the App Store for $3.99.
Conclusion
Bounce On's graphics are polished and wonderfully rendered; the upgraded sounds are excellent as well. Game controls and the user interface are intuitive and very easy to use. Game play, as well as the game's replay value, is exceptional. The game gets an overall rating of 4.5 out of 5. Highly Recommended!
