Bound, but Profound

A Poet Quips, as Habit Grips

Linda Ann Nickerson
"I must write it all out, at any cost."
Anne Morrow Lindburgh
American Writer
(1906 - 2001)

I have an addiction,
A real contradiction,
I cannot be cured;
It is true.
No twelve-step attendance,
Enlisting transcendence,
Can help me, once lured,
I construe.

My family enables,
As I turn the tables,
I crave one more time;
I am hooked.
As my Higher Power,
Calls me, by the hour,
I pound out a rhyme
To be booked.

Withdrawal won't fix me,
For it contradicts me,
I cannot stop writing,
'Tis true.
My habit consumes me;
It fairly entombs me,
I find it exciting;
I do.
