It's the FACE OFF Effect
Any who, the other day, I finally put the promo copy in the player to check it out. Well, if you are a fan of these two artists then this is exactly what you have been waiting for. The music selections drip of sexy, suggestive lyrics as they promise to "do you" the way your man can't and so on and so forth. FACE OFF is the definitive young bachelor's album and shows that these two are "boys" who enjoy having fun with their money and the "girl" perks that come with having a sizeable bankroll (at least compared to the other broke slackers). The tracks on this CD are pretty much dance tunes or "joints" that you can cruise to while driving in the Aston Martin. What, you don't know what an Aston is? Hit track 8 "Can't Get Tired Of Me" to check up on it.
Since I am a music lover by nature, in the right mood I could probably jam to "Girlfriend,"Hey Baby (Jump Off),""He Ain't Gotta Know;" I think I like this one 'cause they refer to woman in the song as "Ma", and "Number Ones" which incorporates a little Latin flavor.
Overall, FACE OFF reminds me of a sophomoric version of the Kanye/50 Cent battle and/or the Usher/R.Kelly "Same Girl" scenario. Speaking of same girl, Bow Wow and "O" are currently promoting a contest to support the CD where fans can enter for a chance to win a dinner date with both of them. Wow, sharing dates, who would have "thunk" it? Included in the prize package are a roundtrip ticket, one night hotel stay and an autographed FACE-OFF album. Currently, there are threefinalists on their website vying for the date. Registered users have a chance to vote for the young lady they think would meet the "personality" criteria both guys say is important to them in a "Girlfriend."
Bow Wow and Omarion certainly had fun making FACEOFF together based on the entire vibe and energy of the CD. Currently, they are both touring independently on individual projects while promoting their collaborative CD.
