Bowling Ball Review: The Mission by Ebonite

Vic Johnston
Ebonite has decided to take its new equipment to different heights. Its Mission is focused on providing every bowler with the carry and hitting power as seen in previous elements found in the family arsenal. The difference that sets the Mission apart however is the pure power that this ball brings to the lane night in and night out. The Mission is Ebonite's newest weapon and it is sure not going to disappoint new and loyal Ebonite customers.

The first main focal point in regards to the Mission's main attributes is its immense backend capabilities. Most parts of the lane can sometimes be considered out of bounds with very little ability to move the ball. Sent wide on numerous occasions for testing purposes, the Mission seems as if it gains energy to fight through most patterns and carry itself to the pocket with ease. I have seen a few people throw the Mission in its pre-release and have been very impressed with the ball's ability to correct mistakes via wrong lines and angles to the pocket. Based on its backend, the ball is being touted, in the opinions of some who have thrown it, as the most "forgiving" in Ebonite's history.

The carry that the Mission brings to the table is outstanding. People often think that when thrown into an area with no ability to hook or come back, a ball that does venture back to the pocket has little energy to carry out the corners or back pins. The Mission provides carry from all angles and almost seems to never lose its momentum and strong push to the pocket. I am not saying that drilling this ball is going to automatically make you a striking machine on every ball. When thrown properly however this ball will provide you with an increase in your striking percentage when league time comes around.

Overall, The Mission has been accepted by staff and critics alike as being the cream of the crop in the field of bowling balls being released for 2010. With the power to overcome every part of the lane and carry potential not seen in quite some time, this ball will be a proven winner within most bowling centers for months and years to come.
