Bowling Buddies: The Ultimate Experience in Virtual Bowling

Lainie
There are a few places online where you can bowl virtually. But, Bowling Buddies is by far the best of them all. The game was developed by PlayFish and is available as a Facebook application.

There are a few reasons why this game takes the cake. One, you have the opportunity to gain awards as you advance in the game which becomes extremely addicting. There are several awards you can win which lead you to becoming a better player. So, once you achieve the award for scoring more than 100 points per game, you can then aim to get the award for scoring more than 200. You'll also get awards just for playing and winning challenges. There's also the "clown" award which you can win just by throwing gutter balls.

Another reason why this virtual bowling game is better than the others is because you are able to see at the bottom of your screen what the highest score of each of your friends is. You can then work on trying to rank #1 among your friends.

The game also has a feature where you can challenge someone on your friends list. Your win/loss history is recorded and made available for the rest of your friends to see. You can aim to have the most win/loss ratio.

To obtain the highest score possible, try and keep your hand steady as you aim and throw the ball. Just like real-life bowling, you should throw the ball between either of the lines beside the center line going for the strikes. I found the best speed to throw the ball is about 20 km/h. Although, there is an award you can win for achieving an average speed of 40.

I have to admit one of the reasons I like this game so much is the fact that you can create a character. You are awarded Bowling Bucks throughout the game by doing and achieving various things in the game. You can use the Bowling Bucks for clothing, hairstyles and nifty looking bowling balls.
