Bowling Party Invitations that Will Impress

Drew Bush
Bowling parties can prove to be a truly fun experience for family and friends. Bowling is a very exhilarating game. I remember when my sister had a bowling party when she turned 9 years old. She really did have a great time. We did three games of bowling, had pizza and cake, and the bowling alley even gave her a bowling pin with her name engraved on it as a present. It was pretty cool.

So are you planning a bowling party for your child, or maybe even for yourself? Are you trying to decide what kind of invitations to create? If so, I may have a couple of ideas up my sleeve that will invite all of the family and friends in style.

When I thought about the bowling pin that my sister received from the bowling alley, it gave me a great idea for bowling party invitations. Here is what I came up with:

Create Paper Mache

The first thing we have to do is create a paper mache mixture. Here is a recipe given by Sherri Osborn at About.com:

The only materials you will need are flour and water. First, mix together water and flower (1 part flower to 2 parts water). You want the mache to have the consistency of glue, but you do not want it to be too thick. You have to mix it well to make sure that there are no lumps. The mache has to be smooth.

There are a couple of good things to remember when creating paper mache:

1) add a few tablespoons of salt if you are in an area with high humidity

2) If the glue mixture is a turn off, add some cinnamon to it. This will make it smell more appealing.

Steps to Creating the Invitations

1) Gather several coke bottles. They can be the smaller ones or the larger ones.

2) Gather some newspaper or regular paper, tear them into strips, cover with the paper mache mixture, and then cover the coke bottles.

3) Get some white and red paint. It would be best to use the thicker paint.

4) Once the paper mache dries, color the paper mache white and then add the red stripe.

5) Using whatever color construction paper you like, cut out a medium sized circle. This will be your

bowling ball. This will be where you will put the writing for your invitation. Take a black marker and

create the holes for the

fingers at the top of the circle.

6) Get some string and tape (or glue) one end to the paper bowling ball. Then, attach the other end to

the bowling pin.

7) When you give the invitation to the people you invite, they will be delighted.
