Having your son participate with Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts is a great way of providing them with the chance to develop character, learn valuable life skills, make new friends while learning to share and help others together as a team and individually. With Summer approaching soon finding the right Boy Scouts camps for your child is a very important decision, with many parents wanting to make sure their child is at the best, and safest, camp. The following is a guide to some Boy Scouts camps currently in New Hampshire. Do some research on the camp and never be afraid to ask other troop leaders or parents for their opinions and recommendations.

Wingedspur Farm Day Camp

Located in Candia, New Hampshire Wingedspur Farm Day Camp is an easy drive from Massachusetts, Vermont, Maine and the Southern New Hampshire area around Concord and Manchester. The camp not only works with Boy Scouts for over night trips and day trips to help earn badges but they also offer opportunities to any child from the age of 6 - 16 to come for horse riding lessons.

Day programs for Boy Scouts include instructors teaches boys proper names for horse riding tools, saddle and bridle preparation and how to turn a horse. They will also learn mounting and dismounting techniques, steering and stopping and how to handle a horse on a trail. If you are planning an over night stay you can choose from cabins or primitive areas to pitch a tent. Camp fires are also provided at each site for cooking or roasting Smores over camp fire stories and songs.
