Boyne Mountain All Seasons Resort: Boyne Mountain in the summer offers horseback riding, biking, swimming, tennis, chairlift rides, fishing and hiking. ACTIVITIES and EVENTS

Boyne Falls Polish Festival: This annual festival celebrates Northern Michigan's Polish roots and the 2010 festival runs from Thursday, August 5th to Sunday, August 8th. A family oriented event, here you can enjoy music and dancing, farm oriented events, carnival rides, children's' activities and more. Opening night features an Oldies themed night and a car show, Friday is Youth Day, ending with a horse pull. Saturday hosts a 5K run, the Grande Royale Parade, tractor pull, motorcycle show and a teen dance. Sunday begins with Mass, and ends with horseshoe pitching and a 4-wheel drive mud run. The Polka Tent offers entertainment and adult refreshments throughout the weekend. Website

Avalanche Bay Indoor Waterpark: With its Winter Wonderland Theme, Michigan's largest indoor waterpark is designed in a Swiss-Austrian cityscape design. Along with the unique water rides, kiddie pools, surf simulator and climbing walls, enjoy the arcade, snack shop and "Apres Ski Pub." Website. Until May 15th, a Spring Savings Package is offered. Golfing in the Boyne Falls Area: Golf courses abound in the Boyne Mountain area, including Alpine, Monument and the Donald Ross Memorial Courses. Vist this page for a guide to Boyne Falls Golfing facilities. The Alpine is home of the invitation-only "Tournament of Champions," considered one of the Michigan PGA Majors. On May 27, 2010, top Michigan amateurs converge at the Heather Course at Boyne Highlands to qualify for the Michigan Amateur Championship, scheduled on June 22-26, 2010 at Oakhurst Golf Club in Clarkston. Evenings at the Gazebo in Old City Park: Every Wednesday evening from mid June to September, Old City Park in nearby Boyne City hosts "Evenings at the Gazebo" (webpage) featuring entertainment by local musical groups and the local drama department, as well as a Farmer's Market (webpage) on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

    There are two things you will find in Michigan and Northern Indiana - lots of Irish and Polish connections and festivals. Sounds like a great place to visit. I have been close - spent a couple of days in Petosky and Charlevois.
