Geum Jandi
The TV drama brings some fresh faces to their cast. Geum Jan Di, played by Goo Hye Sun, is a commoner whose family owns a dry cleaning business; which is near the richest school in Korea, Shinhwa High school. Lucky to Jan Di, she had a chance of a lifetime to go to that school with a swimming scholarship. It all happened when she saved a bullied schoolboy from suicide on the rooftop of Shinhwa high, the client that she was delivering the clothes to also. From there on, she started to look at things differently in life, all because of the famous F4.
F4
F4 stands for the four flower boys. They are the four most handsome, spoiled and richest boys in the school. Goo Jun Pyo (Lee Minho), the curly haired brat, is the heir to Shinhwa Corporation. His family owns the school and is the biggest business in Korea, so he does whatever he wants. He, at first, had a hatred toward Jan Di. But slowly fell in love with her, due to the similar characteristics she had with his sister. Along the way, there were many obstacles in their relationship that hurt both of them but they kept holding on. Yoon Ji Hoo (Kim Hyun Joong), the blond haired four dimensional, is Jun Pyo's best friend. He was Jan Di's first love; but he didn't notice her due to his crazy love for the model Min Seo Hyun, his ex lover. Later on, he finally felt a strong connection with Jan Di but she had already gotten over him. So, like what she did in the beginning, he kept his feelings inside. He is her destined soul mate. When she had problems, he seemed to just be there at the right time to protect her. That made Jun Pyo jealous because he, himself can't always be there for her. Soo Yi Jung (Kim Bum), the playboy who's a potter, makes women go crazy over him. He has his own relationship problems with his first love, Cha Eun Jae. He couldn't be with her because he didn't want to hurt her because of his status. Jan Di's best friend, Chu Ga Eul (Kim So Eun), fell for Yi Jung because of his playboy ways. He always try to help her because he didn't want to see her sad. This couple is a really cute couple. Korean fans really like them and wanted them to be a real couple also! Song Woo Bin (Kim Joon), the underground mafia gang business heir, also manages real estate all around the world. He acts really cool and calm most of the time, but if someone hurts his friends, he gets mad and gets revenge. He is a true friend because he knows what's right and what's wrong. Woo Bin has a really private life so not much of his life is shown.
Review
I honestly like this drama version better than the Taiwan and Japan version. When I first watched it, I didn't know which version I like better because I really liked the Japan one too. But then, this one just wows me. Especially the OST's because the songs are really good. The Korean version shows more into the character and there's more emotion. Sometimes you are feeling what the characters are going through and you felt bad for them. There's an aura from each of the main characters that makes you like them for who they are, even if sometimes they make bad decisions. The first couple of episodes were dragging but it gets way better after that. Twenty-five episodes total in this drama, but it is worth every second of it. Trying to wait for the next couple of episodes to show up was like waiting for a whole year. The story is a concept of a normal girl falling in love with a bratty rich guy and his life showing her hard times from the royalty side also. As the saying goes, "Don't judge people before you know them". So, this drama has a lot of twists and turn and it is for anybody who's ready to cry, laugh and have fun while watching it.
