BP Oil Cam Reveals Surprise Discoveries

Has Captain Nemo's Sub Been Found?

Matthew Stoker
If you been following the Deepwater Horizon oil leak online, then you probably already know that cnn.com, and a variety of other websites, are steaming live footage of the efforts to stop the leak courtesy of BP. Incumbent politicians strongly encouraged BP to do this, though probably less for the entertainment value and more out of hopes that it will divert attention away from their failure to police the oil industry.

Even so, the images have been called "hypnotic" by some, I've spent dozens of hours looking at the footage and have noticed a surprising number of things, and even seen some remarkable images which mysteriously haven't caught the attention of the media. Some interesting discoveries I made are:

1. For a couple seconds I thought I could see Captain Nemo's submarine from Disney's 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea approaching the leaking pipe. Friend or foe? So far the government hasn't responded to my requests for more information regarding this interesting development.

2. I saw someone in a spacesuit, or more likely a cosmonaut's suit, walking around the leak poking it with a stick. Beats me what they were doing though.

3. I saw evidence of Taco Bell wrappers floating around down there which leads to me believe that even 5,000 feet deep there is a Taco Bell eatery as they are becoming so omnipresent.

4. Wreckage from the Titanic. This must be why James Cameron got involved, another opportunity for him to explore the wreck with his deep sea submarine fleet.

5. I think I found Nemo. You know, that little critter from Pixar's Finding Nemo, I think I saw him swimming with his friends, but I could have been hallucinating as I also started to get sleepy from watching a robotic arm try to grab something.

6. I think I can make out words and even numbers in the gushing oil, I'm not quite sure what it means, but it spelled out Vice President Biden's name several times.

Well, I'll try to keep watching and will post updates if I see anything else spectacular.
