Brad Paisley, Miranda Lambert, Taylor Swift Snag Big Wins at 2011 ACM Awards

The 2011 ACM Awards wound up being a big night for country stars Brad Paisley and Miranda Lambert, but no one's star shone as brightly as that of Taylor Swift, who captured her first-ever ACM Entertainer of the Year honor.

Paisley, now a country music fixture, took home his fifth consecutive Male Vocalist of the Year ACM award. He is also the reigning CMA Entertainer of the Year, and he opened the night's show with a rousing collaborative effort alongside the legendary group Alabama.

Lambert received a number of awards, including Female Vocalist of the Year, and Single Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Music Video of the Year, all in recognition of the nostalgia hit The House That Built Me.

Swift's Entertainer of the Year win isn't surprising, given the strength and supportive nature of her fan base. The Swifties, as they call themselves, mounted a campaign to support their candidate on Sunday morning, successfully using the term TaylorSwiftACMs frequently enough to make it a trending topic. Prior to winning the award, Swift delighted fans--and perhaps even a few foes--with one of her strongest live performances in a long while when she delivered Mean, her newest release from her Speak Now album.

The other major awards of the evening, Duo of the Year and Group of the Year, went to Sugarland and Lady Antebellum.
