Brad Paisley Rocks Us yet Again

Time Well Wasted: A Blend of Everything a Country CD Needs

K2
"That was time well wasted."… Just thinking about this statement makes various images and memories appear in anyone's mind. Some situations in life override our responsibilities, work, and worries. These situations call us to do something we don't have to do, but instead allow us to do what we want to do. These situations are few and far between but they are the moments in our life that we will remember. That is why Paisley, feeling these moments were so important dedicated the title of his CD as well as a song on the disc to these unique and rare moments of our lives.

Paisley has transformed himself from an up and comer into one of the most renowned artists in the industry. Known for two main types of songs, love and near comical songs, paisley diversifies on this CD to mix of many styles. This CD provides many great singles as well as several skits and instrumentals. The opening track of the CD, The World, also a released single, is a fantastic love song which illustrates how, even though they are just another person to everyone else, they mean everything to you. The next song on the CD is the most well known as well as the first single released, Alcohol. One of Brad's more comical styled songs, Alcohol discusses all of the funny things alcohol makes people do, as well as consequences and locations it comes from.

One of the catchiest and most popular songs from the CDs, it is likely to be one of the most remembered song of Paisley's in addition to the most remembered from this CD. Alcohol is followed by the emotional "conversation" country song Waitin' on a Woman. In this song, two characters "discuss" their experiences with woman and how they make men wait but how, in the end, it doesn't affect anything at all. In the emotionally charged conclusion, Paisley sings about how he hopes the woman waits until he has passed so she can enjoy her life and he will be there for her in heaven no matter when she gets there. Following up this deep love song is another comical song outlining Paisley's distaste for a woman. I'll Take You Back has very funny lines outlining just what would happen in order to have him take her back, such things as politicians not telling lines as well as other well thought out quips.

The typical Paisley pattern continues on song five, She's Everything. Yet another fantastic Paisley love ballad, Brad sings about everything the love of his life means to him. Following She's Everything is the song You Need A Man Around Here. This song discusses how a man can change a woman's house. This comical-country song is consistent with Paisley's general pattern. The next song shows a shift in this CD, as well as a shift in Brad's pattern of songs.

Out in the Parking Lot
, featuring Alan Jackson, is a completely different style, discussing a bar and everything that occurs in the parking lot of the establishment. It discusses events like lovers leaving one another, bar fights, and bands. The next three songs, Rainin' You, Flowers, and Love Is Never-Ending all discuss love in different stages. One song discusses the concept of love, another discusses trying to win an old love back and the other reminisces about things reminding us of our past loves. Following those songs is a short song entitled The Uncloudy Day.

Next is the well known duet with Dolly Parton entitled When I Get Where I'm Going. In this deeply emotional song, Brad and Dolly sing about heaven and what they'll do when they get there. Received well by critics and public, this is bound to be yet another lasting song of Paisley's. The following song is a fast paced song about Brad and his bands humble roots and how easy their job is now. Easy Money is one of the more personal songs, mentioning each of the band member's prior jobs. A short instrumental, Time Warp precedes the title track of the CD.

Time Well Wasted
is one of the best songs on the CD. At a medium speed, it suits nearly everyone's tastes as well as addressing situations nearly everyone has experienced. The final song, but not track on the disc, is bound to be another hit from this top-selling CD. The final six tracks are "hidden" and are entitled Cornography. This section of the CD is a skit featuring other country stars as well.

All in all, this disc is a fantastic example of Brad Paisley's musical and country talents. This CD displays a little of everything that Paisley and company are capable of from slow love songs, to faster party songs and everything in between. If you like this CD you are bound to like many other Paisley's hits. If not already in production, there will most likely be a greatest hits compilation of Brad's best songs. This CD is an awesome combination of Paisley's musical skills, brilliant accompaniments, and good producing skills. This best-selling CD is highly recommended.
