Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie getting married? The two might eventually decide to tie the knot. The potential Brad and Angelina marriage would certainly make huge headlines. Can you imagine the paparazzi trying to get exclusive video and pictures of a Brad and Angelina wedding in some exotic place? The pictures from such an event would be worth their weight in gold. But that's one of several reasons why I believe the potential marriage just wouldn't be a great thing for the ultra famous couple. The extra pressure and strain could be devastating for their relationship.
In fact, why should they even bother attempting to change what's currently working? The two seem to remain strong despite rumors of splits over the past few years. Some think it's a great idea for the two to take the plunge. I happen to disagree completely.
I am not saying the couple should or shouldn't tie the knot. That's definitely not for me or anyone to say. But here's a little fun food for thought as to why they might stick to the current plan. Here are five reasons why Brad Pitt and Angelina shouldn't get married.
1) Stress of Hollywood Life
We've seen marriages that looked rock solid fall apart before in Hollywood. These two A list celebs are facing the rigors of travel, extensive work and parenthood already. Until both decide to slow down, getting married might not be the best idea. It appears Brad and Angelina are content with the current situation for now. Why add to the stress of a relationship by adding the pressure of all the things that come with a wedding? The two have been working apart for some time-although they officially met one another when filming the 2005 movie Mr. and Mrs. Smith according to a US Magazine story.
In fact, Brad isn't ruling out the two won't work together in the near future. "We're hopscotching with films so one can be with the kids and one's free to work," Pitt was quoted as saying in the story. "And why aren't we doing them together? Why aren't we doing everything together?" Perhaps if the two can spend more quality time together on set it would allow for a potential wedding. Until then, it seems unlikely their respective hectic schedules would allow for such a thing. The potential stress for the power couple could be higher than anyone could ever imagine.
2) If It Isn't Broke...
You've heard it before. If it isn't broke, don't try to fit it. I can't imagine a phrase that ever applied more to a relationship than what is currently taking place between Brad and Angelina. They seem to be still majorly in love with one another. Angelina recently gushed during an interview about being with Brad. "I love feeling soft," she recently told The Telegraph.
"I love being with Brad, I love all the sensitivity and natural emotion."
If the two are still madly in love, some may argue that Brad and Angelina shouldn't bother changing what works. There will always be a school of thought that marriage makes everything that much better. The unfortunate thing is that all the hoopla surrounding a potential Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie marriage might make things a bit worse-even if in the short term. It's important to note that these aren't two regular people deciding to take that plunge. These are two of the most famous people on Earth. They face paparazzi pressure unknown to many other well known celebrities. So it would be extremely hard to compare their potential engagement and wedding to anyone who isn't that ultra popular. How would a potential marriage make things better? That's the real question the two should be asking before deciding to take that next step.
3) Marriage Between Celebs Usually Ends In Divorce
Let's face it. Hollywood marriages have a horrible success rate. Blame it on the A type personalities. Blame it on the difficult schedules. Throw in 6 kids and that's the kind stress Brad and Angelina would be going up against. A marriage between Angelina and Brad might only set the two up for a disappointing ending.
With 6 kids, it seems that a marriage might sound like a good idea. But a divorce would be messy and horrible. The two would face an incredible amount of pressure and scrutiny should they even break up at this point in their relationship. Can you imagine the scrutiny if they married and divorced? As it stands, a potential break up wouldn't seem as horrible from many perspectives. Another school of thought would say that the two should never enter into an agreement to get married if divorce is an option. The eternal optimist in me believe that maybe the pair would pull it off. It could be one of the more romantic Hollywood stories ever. The realist in me believes that such a marriage between two celebs would be doomed from the start.
4) Angelina Has Already Divorced Twice
Angelina Jolie has already been through two divorces. The 35 year old actress was married to Jonny Lee Miller and Billy Bob Thornton for 3 years. She doesn't exactly have a great track record when it comes to marriage. Perhaps Angelina would be the one who is most gun shy about going the distance and getting married to start with. So who would want the pressure of a third failed marriage? Would Brad be worried that Angelina has already walked away from that type of commitment on two different occasions? The entire idea of her getting married again might be off limits anyway.
Who is to say that this might be the one that does last? It's certainly possible but it seems unlikely Angelina would even consider it unless she is 100% sure this time around.
5) Both Need To Remain Single For Fans and Career
The whole Brangelina thing has been a tough thing for fans to accept. The two celebs are known as the "sexiest" Hollywood couple ever. Johnny Depp recently called the pair the "Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton of our era." Strong words? Absolutely. The two could continue to give off the fantasy vibe to fans that they still aren't attached if they chose not to get married. Let's face it. If the two get married, they might lose a little bit of their sex appeal because they are now completely committed in their relationships. The allure of a single Brad Pitt might still give female fans one more reason to watch his movies-even if they realize he is currently with Jolie. The same can be said for male fans of Angelina.
Marriage for Brad and Angelina could actually hurt their respective careers because of the loss of their potential availability.
Those are five reasons I believe Brad Pitt and Angeline Jolie shouldn't get married. If the two did pull off a successful long term marriage, it would mark one of the more romantic Hollywood stories of all time. Who is to say that they couldn't make it work? It's certainly not for me or anyone outside of their relationship to make that decision. But this just serves as a little food for thought as the two continue on what could be deemed "that path." Maybe the two could finally serve as one of the few good Hollywood images we have for married couples. Although it's unlikely any of us actually realize the amount of pressure it is to walk in their respective shoes-let alone try to make it as a couple in this day and age in Hollywood.
In fact, why should they even bother attempting to change what's currently working? The two seem to remain strong despite rumors of splits over the past few years. Some think it's a great idea for the two to take the plunge. I happen to disagree completely.
