Brady Quinn Close to Being Traded by Cleveland Browns

The Cleveland Browns Appear Close to Making Another Move at Quarterback

Ryan Christopher DeVault
Brady Quinn could be traded by the Cleveland Browns very soon. Rumors of Brady Quinn being traded from the Browns are coming league sources close to the team. ESPN is reporting that Cleveland has already been shopping Brady Quinn around the league, and that several teams have already received offers including Brady Quinn as one part of a trade. Quinn is a young quarterback that the Browns drafted out of Notre Dame, and who was supposed to be the next offensive star in Cleveland. He just never got on a role when he came to Cleveland, making many fans upset with how he performed as well as how the Browns management decided to use him on the field.

It looks like the Browns are trying to trade Brady Quinn in order to make some more room on their roster. This would be the third quarterback move that the Browns have made this week alone, as on Monday they traded for quarterback Seneca Wallace from the Seattle Seahawks, and yesterday they released quarterback Derek Anderson. The shuffling at the quarterback position could be another sign that the Browns are looking to try and draft a new one in the 2010 NFL Draft, but with new front office man Mike Holmgren bringing over a quarterback (Wallace) that he helped to draft when he was with Seattle, maybe the Browns are just making more room for Wallace.

Brady Quinn played in parts of four seasons for the Cleveland Browns, posting only 1,902 yards, 10 touchdowns, and nine interceptions for the duration. There were a couple of times when it looked like he might finally live up to his potential, highlighted by a week 11 game against the Detroit Lions. In that game he went 21 for 33 in passing attempts, throwing for 304 yards and four touchdowns without any interceptions. It spiked the hopes for the Cleveland Browns fans, but he sputtered out as the season came to a close, and there were immediate calls for the Browns to move in a new direction. It appears that Cleveland is doing exactly that, and that Quinn could be traded before the end of the week.

Im betting on Brady Quinn landing in Buffalo Bills or Oakland Raiders. I think Buffalo would be a great opportunity for Quinn.
