It will be Article 101
I just published the 100th
But another just won't come
I've tried to think of this and that
Of words that fit and rhyme
But all the time my brain just spins
And I'm running out of time
It would be great if I could think
Of something good to write
A subject highly popular
To set my world alight
Just think that if I woke up to see
My page views soaring high
A thousand people visited
The dollars multiplied
If this could go on daily
And Google was my friend
The traffic might go on and on
And maybe never end
I'd love to build a nest egg
For when I do retire
That day is getting closer
But my finances are dire
My dream of a lottery jackpot
Is a pipe one I really desire
But chances are nothing will happen
That allows me to early retire
So if I can't win a fortune
And set myself up for life
I hope to earn a few more pennies
On AC for me and the wife
If my little nest egg keeps on growing
And year by year I earn more
My pension (which is hardly worth having)
Might help stop us from being too poor
So good luck to all of us writers
And may cramp be kept far from our door
May the ink in your pen flow quite freely
And your wrists and arms never get sore
Oh look - I've just found my new poem
I'm brain dead but rambling again
Sometimes when you just think of nothing
An article forms in your brain

Post a CommentThat's great Catherine. We are just about to head out and spent more than that on grocery shopping :(
I won over $130 on lotto tickets...made my week! And I didn't have to write and wait for it :) Fun poem, Tony!
this is so good! nicely done :)
I know what you mean about dire finances :)
Good brain dead writing, Tony!
Great poem! I've been in the "brain dead" zone many times! :-D
The amazing thing was that I started with about 3 lines and had the whole thing finished in under 10 minutes. That really amazed me. Once my inner poet wakes up, that's what happens though.
Nice poem! And I know this feeling all too well!
This is REALLY GOOD!!!
It's hard to think of something interesting to write about everyday! Good job!
