In today's ever-changing world, being successful is not easy and keeping-up-to-date physically as well as psychologically is the focus of many. You take your body to the gym and work out but what about working our your brain in the mind-gym?

How to build your mind muscles:

Concentration can be directely effected by a tired minds so try these few exercises daily and sharpen your mind. Whatever task at hand you have to match your concentration level to remain focused. Spend five minutes focused on something, stop for a minute and then go to something extremely challenging. This is called interval working and, with practice, will bring your concentration back to sharp levels.

If you find that you have more energy in the morning to work and lost concentration as the day goes bye then take on your hardest task first and leave the easier ones until later in the day. Keep distractions to a minimum and remove radios, TV's or anything that can detract you from your task. Ensure that you eat three healthy meals a day and always have a glass of water at your side. If you find that your concentration does not come back after after interval working then keep a record of your lapses and keep on trying. If you are aware of your concentration patterns then you can work on them and pull yourself around when you feel that you are distracted.

Thinking and staying focused is greatly helped by organization whether it be a weekly "to do" list or a daily "to do" list. You must learn how to delegate work and how to save time. Thinking this out will really amaze you at first especially when you realize just how much time you waste during the day. Focus on your daily priorities and use modern tools such as internet-banking rather than physically driving to your bank and waiting in line for your turn.

Use your time wisely, for example, if you are driving into work then just focus on what you have do do, prioritize and leave the everyday easy things until last. This will help you to overcome taking on a project when you are fatigued and avoid loss of concentration. Learn how to adapt to change and welcome it rather than fear it. In today's ever increasing competitive environment, especially in the workplace, focus on how quickly you can adapt comfortable and personally manage the change within your working day. Use your mind wisely and realize that it too is a major part of your entire make-up that needs to work out, be toned and take time out to refresh.
