Brain Teaser: Riddles for Kids (Animals)

I Can't See with My Head in the Sand (A Riddle)

Do your children love brain teasers and riddles? Most kids consider them to be just plain fun, but there's more to them than that. Solving riddles and brain teasers helps children develop critical thinking skills. The ability to think critically helps children to reason and to apply logic in a fair-minded way. That's a life skill that's worth acquiring! And what better way is there to learn it than with brain teasers and riddles?

I Can't See with My Head in the Sand (A Riddle)

I am a bird that can not fly
To top of tree, nor in the sky.

I can not sing and do not dance,
And never wear white underpants!

I don't have teeth and don't have hair,
Just feathers on me everywhere.

My legs are long, and fast they run
If danger's near, or just for fun.

And though some think I stick my head
Down in the sand (not under beds),

It surely would be hard to see ...
Now, can you guess what I might be?

Glad you enjoyed it, Melinda. And glad your kids got it ... that's always a positive stroke for their self-esteem when they can figure out a riddle!
