What child can resist a brain teaser or a riddle? Not many, and although kids consider them to be just plain fun, solving riddles and brain teasers helps children develop critical thinking abilities. The skills to think critically help children to reason and to apply logic in a fair-minded way, and will be invaluable both in childhood and adulthood.

The Mystery Pet

Other kids have dogs and cats
And that's just fine for them.
But my pet is the best of all,
His name is Sunny Jim.

He's not too big and not too fat;
He fits most anywhere.
Grownups wonder when I say
He's missing teeth and has no hair.

They're thinking he's an eel or bat
Or something quite absurd.
But he just cocks his head and sings,
'Cause Sunny is a ________,

    so cute!!!! Loved the rhyming poem/riddle...I used to love these when I was a kid (and still do!) lol
