Braless in a Bra Obsessed World

Can You Take the Plunge?

Going without a bra is sometimes very impractical, but if you can go without a bra, there are times that your probably should!

I know your first thought, "but then my nipples will show". The visibility of nipples is the biggest deterrent when choosing to go braless, while some women may like the idea, most do not. There are a few solutions to prevent your embarrassing nipple presentation. You can use band-aids, just stick one across each nipple and ta-da. They also make a nipple tape (which functions the same as a band-aid would, but costs a little more) that compresses the nipple down even with the surrounding tissue. You can also play it safe by wearing jacket if it's cold or a vest if it's not. Both will cover your nipples successfully.

By not wearing a bra, you are actually helping to keep your breasts healthy. Lymphatic circulation is very, very important in maintaining breast health. When you wear a bra it prevents the flow of lymph fluids to clear out the toxins in your breasts. It is thought that regular bra wearing may be responsible for an increase in breast cancer. If you feel you must always wear your bra, at the end of the day when it's time to let the girls out, you can gently massage your breasts to get the circulation flowing in them again. If you're really feeling frisky, you can always let your husband or partner catch a peek of the action.

Obviously, size makes a difference as to whether or not you can go braless. If you have a smaller cup size, going braless can be a fairly simply task. But for those of us with a larger set of girls, they do make camisoles these days with built in bras to help provide some support for a braless femme. Even those are sometimes not enough support. You will know if you can or cannot go braless. It's all a matter of planning accordingly. Start by just being braless around the house, nobody is going to see you, you don't have to worry about your nipples showing and you will be doing your breasts a favor in the long run.

If you're afraid of going in public without a bra, try starting in the winter time. You will be wearing a lot of layers anyway, and they will help to disguise your freed breasts. Of course you could always plan a vacation to a topless resort and then you wouldn't have to worry about anyone noticing you without your over-the-shoulder boulder-holder.

Going braless can be a great experience, or one of you worst nightmares. You will just have to do what you are comfortable with. Some women are simply more comfortable wearing a bra while others go bra free as a political statement.
