Brandon Davies: Sex Violates BYU Honor Code

Nick Meyer
The Internet is abuzz with stories of the BYU forward Brandon Davies sex incident at BYU that caused the dismissal of him from the team.

But it's not a sex scandal or a rape case or anything like that regarding Davies, who is BYU's leading rebounder and third-leading scorer.

In fact, the entire situation reportedly revolves around him being identified as having had a physical intimate relationship with his girlfriend, which many outlets are reporting is a violation of BYU's honor code that tells players and students to live a chaste and pious life.

The news was tough for BYU fans to swallow as many of them had designs on watching a Final Four run from the Cougars.

But now, it is is jeopardy after the Brandon Davies news came out regarding him possibly being suspended indefinitely for having sex with his girlfriend.

BYU has not made an official statement following the reports yet but the word from reports is that Davies has no criminal history according to local records. The 19-year-old has stayed out of trouble off the court aside from the incident(s) involving his girlfriend.

This could definitely lead to a strong national debate on the honor code and what it could mean for BYU athletes going forward at the conservative school.

Keep tuned into the news in the next few days to see where the Brandon Davies sex-related incident leads and what this could mean for the 27-2 Cougars as they march toward the NCAA Tournament.
