Brandy Leaves 'Dancing With the Stars' Semi-Finals Week 9 Results Show; Bristol Palin Heads to Finals
Bristol Palin & Mark Ballas Head to Finals on "Dancing with the Stars"
At the end of the Week 9 show of Season 11 of "Dancing with the Stars," the judges' scores looked like this: Jennifer Grey - 60; Kyle Massey - 58; Brandy - 57; and Bristol Palin - 53. Some viewers wondered if the teenager from Alaska would survive being at the bottom of the leader board again. Could Bristol Palin make it to the finals? To paraphrase a popular political campaign: "Yes, she can!"
Bristol Palin & Mark Ballas Head to Finals
After viewers voted for their favorites, Bristol Palin and Mark Ballas were once again safe to compete against the remaining two couples, Jennifer Grey and Derek Hough and Kyle Massey and Lacey Schwimmer in the "Dancing with the Stars" finals next week.
Bristol Palin on "Dancing with the Stars
Between musical performances by Annie Lennox and Enrique Iglesias, the semi-finalists discussed what "Dancing with the Stars" has meant to them. Bristol Palin said that at the beginning of Season 11, she had been "really, really, really shy and timid" but that "Dancing with the Stars" had brought her out of her shell."I've definitely been pushed to my limit and learned to persevere. I think I've found my confidence, and I've learned more about myself than I ever thought possible. I am really thankful for that."
Dancing with the Stars Pro Dancers on Bristol Palin
Lacey Schwimmer pointed out that at the beginning of the "Dancing with the Stars" competition, "Bristol had zero confidence in herself." Schwimmer went on to say that Palin has improved each week, adding, "I think she's peaking at just the right time."
Mark Ballas complimented his partner's growth and natural grace, mentioning Palin's great footwork and great lines which the "Dancing with the Stars" judges have praised every week.
Bristol Palin on Why She Deserved to Make it to the Finals
Bristol Palin said she thought she deserved a place in the finals, "because I started with no dancing experience whatsoever, and I think I've come a long way." Later, she added, "We've been at the bottom of the leader board. I want to come out with one routine where we really get it, and I hope we make it to the finals so we can do that."
Len Goodman on Bristol Palin
Judge Len Goodman agreed, saying, "I don't think anyone in 11 seasons has had such a journey, but each week you've gotten stronger and stronger; you've got great technique, and have done a great job."
Bristol Palin's long journey has paid off as the teenager from Alaska is going to the "Dancing with the Stars" finals while actress Brandy joins Kurt Warner, Rick Fox, Audrina Patridge, Florence Henderson, Mike Sorrentino, Margaret Cho, Michael Bolton, and David Hasselhoff by departing.

Wow, what a negative approach, focusing on who lost rather than who won. Some people are just so bitter Bristol made it to the finals... which actually makes her a WINNER!!!!
The show ended the way it should - Bristol lost.
The judges could not say enough nice things about Bristol. Each week they commented on her natural musicality, her fabulous technique, her great footwork, her gracefulness, etc. They only thing she lost points for on a regular basis was "performance." If it REALY is a show just about great dancing, Bristol Palin was consistently a great dancer who happened to have had no performance experience whatsoever before the show. She was fun to watch, she improved every week, the judges liked her, the audience liked her... in fact, the only people who didn't like her were the lunatic fringe who keep hollering "tea bag" "jury tampering" "ballot stuffing!" Regualr American viewers liked her, whether they voted for her or not. Oh, and just because you libbies keep repeating "tea baggers" and putting it in ALL CAPS, doesn't make it so! :-)
IT'S A SHOW ABOUT WHO DANCES BEST NOT ABOUT WHO IS MOST IMPROVED.VIEWERS WHO ARE FAIR WILL JUDGE THE DANCING ABILITY. I DON'T BELIEVE BRISTOL WOULD HAVE GOTTEN AS FAR AS SHE DID IF IT WERE NOT FOR BLIND VOTING FROM TEABAGGERS.SHE IS PROBABLY A NICE GIRL BUT INSTEAD OF DOING THE "CELEBRITY THING" A GOOD MOTHER WOULD ENCOURAGE HER TO GO BACK TO SCHOOL AND COMPLETE HER EDUCATION.POLITICS HAS NO PLACE ON DWTS. IHAVE NOT WATCHED SINCE BRANDY (CLEARLY THE BETTER DANCER) WAS VOTED OFF. IF THIS HAD BEEN A COURT CASE INVESTIGATORS WOULD HAVE SUSPECTED JURY TAMPERING.
Wow, TeaBagtart, you really ARE a tart with that unattractive hate speech you have going on there. You really are a Republicanphobe, aren't you? Try not to take all your intolerance out on a teenager, OK? It's uncalled for and very tacky.
Bristol Palin was lovely to watch and the ratings went the highest they have ever gone with her on the show. Bruno Tonioli had it right when he said the viewers loved her because "she is the girl next door."
Jennifer Grey's former training in dance sure helped her out. She deserved to win based on best dancer, but it is kind of unfair to put someone with her experience in with the others who have no dance training. I guess you could say "Dancing with the Stars" really was "rigged" this year since someone with dance training won it!
Ahh,,,Poor Bristol:Trying so hard to break away from Mamas ugly shadow, but she ends up being notorious for exactly the same reasons:Talentless, not super bright, but some how brainless leagues of voters support her to unimaginable heights.Do the Palins really fancy themselves the next Kennedy Dynasty with these kind of NON CREDENTIALS.As if doing a flunky show about killing animals in Alaska wasnt enough,I smell pure greed going on here.Yuck.But oh so Republican in nature.
