Brann's Steakhouse & Grille - Northville Michigan

I first visited Brann's Steakhouse & Grille in Northville, Michigan when my friends and I went out for a birthday party. Two of my friends suggested Brann's because of this great deal they have where you can buy 2 meals for $14, but it only applies on a Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday. The deal let's you choose from a list of 11 or so entrees for you and your partner, then you each get 2 sides to go with your choice. This is a great deal but unfortunately there is only one fish item on the list, and no vegetarian items.

Even without that deal, the prices are still great! My husband and I spent under $30 for two meals and an appetizer which left us completely stuffed! You can get different fish entrees ranging from $10 to $14 which is definitely cheaper than a lot of restaurants I've been to. Steaks range from $10 to $15 which you won't see at most steakhouses. The menu also includes a large variety of burgers, chicken dishes and sandwiches. To see the full menu, click here. Each entree comes with two sides and you can choose from a variety of veggies, potatoes, and rice as well as a cup of broccoli soup! This is one of the only restaurants I know of which allows you to get soup as one of your sides without charging you anything extra.

The prices are good, and so is the food! The food at Brann's fills us up and satisfies our taste buds. You may be thinking that with those cheap prices, the food isn't that good, but you'd be wrong. The broccoli cheese soup is excellent! We got chips and salsa to start, and I ended up even dipping the chips into my broccoli soup because it was SO yummy. I got the Tilapia on my last visit because it was cheap, but it turned out to be better than any other Tilapia I've had at other restaurants. Salmon is usually my fish of choice, but I'd be more than willing to get the Tilapia again when I want to save a few bucks. My friends have had various items off the chicken menu as well as the steaks and burgers and they never go home unsatisfied. In addition, the entrees come with the most delicious rolls and cinnamon butter!

There aren't a lot of vegetarian options. I do eat fish, so there are plenty of options for me, but for anyone who is purely vegetarian, I'm not sure there is anything on the menu for you. If I wasn't in the mood for fish, I probably wouldn't go to Brann's because I don't see many (or any) items that have no meat in them. I'm sure you could customize a salad or get some sides, but if you aren't into asking for customizations, you might want to pass.

The service is a bit below par with other restaurants in this price range. The servers do their job, give you your food promptly, and don't really do anything majorly wrong, however they also don't do anything majorly spectacular either. Other restaurants in this price range have servers who are more friendly and upbeat, whereas Brann's servers are friendly, but maybe not so upbeat. They get the job done though so I don't have a ton of complaints there.

The decor and atmosphere make it seem like a party place. As I stated, we went for a birthday dinner with a group and Brann's worked out great for that. It's the type of place where you feel like you can be a little bit loud without getting dirty looks! The decor is random, but cool. For example, there is one painting that has a bunch of construction workers on a beam, but if you look closely you'll see each construction worker is actually a famous person like Gilligan, the guy from star trek, Sylvester Stallone and more. There's also a picture of George Castanza posing provocatively from an episode of Seinfeld! I've only been to the Non-Smoking side, so I can't comment on the bar area, but overall the place makes you feel relaxed and comfortable like you can really have some fun.

In addition to the atmosphere, they have a large variety of cheap drinks to get the party started for adults. Their drink and beer prices are lower than other restaurants, and the variety may lead you to a drink you never tried. There are plenty of fun non-alcoholic drinks as well including milk shakes, malts, smoothies and the really yummy "Spotted Bull Lemonades" that mix lemonade with a great fruit flavor.

If you and your family, or you and your friends, want to go out for a decent bite to eat at a decent price and have some fun - check out Brann's today! We didn't have room for dessert but I couldn't help but notice how great their dessert prices were as well. They had some fake samples floating around and they looked like a large size for a good price. I wouldn't mind going back to Brann's and sitting at the bar just to skip dinner and get some dessert!
