Braveheart is a movie full of violence and true depictions of the style of war that consumed the country side back during this struggle for freedom. These types of graphic battle scenes make this film all the more realistic as the outnumbered Scottish people fight side by side in an epic attempt to be free from the tyrannical reign of Edward the Longshanks. Time after time the Scottish people are able to win battles, proving that they were not just another band of farmers that could easily be stricken down. Even when the nobles betrayed Wallace and they lost a major battle, they continued to regroup and fight on, as well as dealing out his own justice to the countrymen that had betrayed him.
What makes this film so different from others of this type is the fact that William Wallace was a real person, and a real hero. Real heroes are hard to find, and this film depicts his adventures in a style that makes the viewer, understand their plight, and to actually become entranced by how such an untrained group of people could have such an impact upon an entire nation.
This movie is one of the few that I would say is a must see for everyone, and it is an addition that should be made to every movie library.

Post a CommentI have seen this movie 2 times now. Its still a very enjoyable movie in fact. The music is simply beautifully made, and Mel Gibson has definitely outdone even him self in this movie. As many others disagree, this movie truly beats Avatar, and it just baffles me that this one is not #1 according to charts.
