Breakfast Casserole Recipe and Review

Ashley Noble
Let me start off by giving you the recipe for the best breakfast casserole you could ever make. It's simply delicious! You won't have anyone in the family that will disagree when you announce this is breakfast:

1 LB ROLL OF SAUSAGE, I prefer Jimmy Dean original, but any original flavor or brand would do.

A 16OZ BAG OF SHREDDED CHEESE WHITE AND CHEDDER Cheese

12 EGGS (size large)

1 CUP MILK ( I prefer skim, but any will work)

2 TBSP OF BUTTER (Works well with county crock, or I can't believe its not butter)

32OZ BAG OF SHREDDED HAHBROWNS THAWED

SEASON SALT ABOUT 2 TBSP but more or less to taste

SALT AND PEPPER to taste

BROWN your sausage in pan

IN A SEPERATE BOWL MIX EGGS AND MILK

IN A 9x12 GLASS DISH MIX HASBROWNS AND EGG MILK MIXTURE, SEASON SALT, SALT, PEPPER AND BUTTER

AFTER SAUSAGE IS BROWNED ADD GREASE AND ALL TO OTHER MIXTURE MIX ALL TOGETHER. BAKE AT 350 FOR ONE-HOUR

BAKE NIGHT BEFORE AND THEN NEXT DAY WARM UP THE LAST 5 MIN, ADD CHEESE AND MELT, SERVE to your hungry family! This recipe does not call for it, but I also like to add a dash of garlic powder and onion powder to add a little more spice to it, but if you like it plain you can follow the directions.

This is a wonderful recipe to make for Christmas morning, a dish to pass at a work function, etc. It's always a hit with everyone. You can always make your own variation and add things like green pepper, mushroom, extra cheeses, jalapeno, etc. People will keep asking for it every time you have your get-together!

It's great if you add bacon on top of it. Just cook your bacon extra crispy and after the casserole is done cooking, crush the bacon and sprinkle on top.

We have this recipe at all family gatherings and its one of the fastest dishes that empty. It pleases everyone, from little kids to Grandma's. It you make the original recipe, it's not too spicy so it will satisfy all tastes. This dish is also pretty easy on the wallet; it's fairly inexpensive and very easy to make. Kids love to help make it too, with the layering, it's a great job for them to help out with the cooking. They love to see their creation when it's all done. Serve with ketchup, tobacco sauce, salt, pepper, and something to drink. Orange juice, apple juice, milk or coffee pairs nicely with the breakfast casserole.
