If breakfast isn't something your normally do, you will have to start slowly. There won't be a full breakfast bar with pancakes, bacon and eggs. You just wouldn't be able to stomach it. Start out light for the first week or two. Try having a piece of toast with jelly, or even a bagel. Allow your body time to adjust to being fed at that time.
If you have ever started your day off feeling queasy then you need to drink a glass of water. Water will sooth the queasiness and will prepare you stomach for the food intake without making you feel sick.
Evaluate your morning routine and allow yourself the time to relax and consume your breakfast without having to rush out the door. Getting up a few minutes early will not kill you and the breakfast boost is sure to help you later in the day. If you feel you need more time in the morning, prepare for breakfast as much as you can the night before. If you are going to have a bowl of cereal, lay the bowl and spoon out on the counter. It will be a couple steps less that you'll have to worry about in the morning. You can take it one step further by adding the cereal and covering it until in the morning, then you just add the milk and you're all set!
Get yourself into a groove everyday and stick to it. Having a consistent routine is a surefire way to keep your day on track. If there are things you need to do in the morning, plan them out the night before. Lay your clothes out at night and make sure keys, backpacks, shoes, etc. are all by the door and ready to go. That way everything goes smoothly and you find yourself on time and on track and you can sit down and enjoy a few moments for breakfast.
Don't be afraid to try new things. If a heavy meal is something you want to avoid first thing in the morning, then try lighter things like yogurt or a fruit cup or even a breakfast shake. If you want something more substantial then try as bagel, toast or even toaster pastries. You can play around with all kinds of options and figure out which tastes and which types of things you can handle or that you crave that early in the morning.
Just make a few small adjustments to your morning routine and you will be able to start having breakfast and doing your body an enormous favor. Eating first thing in the morning may now sound like a good idea, but trust me, it will be worth it in the long run if you can convince yourself to do it now!
