Breakfast Restaurant Guide for Fort Bend County, Texas

Bethany Pegues
Fort Bend County is home to many good breakfast restaurants, but if you happen to find yourself hungry early while on the east end of the county here are my favorite restaurants that serve breakfast.

1. Avalon Diner in Stafford, Texas.

Avalon Diner at 12810 Southwest Freeway in Stafford is one of the best breakfast restaurants around. The first thing that grabs the attention when you walk in the door is the atmosphere. It is reminiscent of the old diners of many years ago.

At Avalon Diner, breakfast is served all day. They have a huge breakfast menu that includes everything from steak and eggs to the Vegetable Scrambler. I am particularly fond of their buttermilk pancakes with chocolate chips. Prices for breakfast items run from a range of about $5.45 to 10.95, although you can get single side items such as grits, fruit or cereal in the $2.00 range.

Avalon diner is open Sunday-Thursday 7:00a.m.-9:00p.m. and Friday-Saturday 7:00a.m.-10:00p.m.

2. Denny's in Missouri City, Texas.

If you're really hungry and want great value then you must try Denny's at 6131 Highway 6 South in Missouri City. At $5.99, Denny's Build Your Own Grand Slam is sure to please all. You can choose four items with choices of two eggs (or egg whites), two sausage links or one chicken sausage patty, hash brown, buttermilk biscuit, two pancakes, two bacon strip or turkey bacon, two slices of toast, oatmeal, grits or English muffin. For an extra 49 cents, you can try Denny's new premium selections which include seasonal fruit, yogurt and granola. This is just one items on Denny's menu. There are also breakfast burritos and many other items to choose from. The coffee is good and hot, and they keep it coming.

Denny's is open 24/7, and breakfast is served around the clock. This is one breakfast restaurant you won't want to miss!

3. International House of Pancakes in Sugar Land, Texas

Another of Fort Bend County's great breakfast restaurants is IHOP at 16530 Southwest Freeway, in Sugar Land. IHOP is also open 24/7. My favorite IHOP items are their fabulous pancakes and coffee. One of IHOP's newest items is their Butterscotch Rocks Pancakes which includes four buttermilk pancakes filled with butterscotch chips, pecans, granola and topped with whipped topping and caramel sauce.

IHOP also has many different crepes to choose from.

For the heartier appetite, IHOP has a 10 ounce ham steak that is served with two eggs, two pancakes and hash browns, or you can have a country fried steak and eggs with buttermilk biscuits. Okay, I'm hungry now! I think I might just hop over to IHOP.

We're very partial to IHOP. Unfortunately, there isn't one less than 2 hours away from us.
