Breaking Bad Beats - the Next Generation of Texas Hold'em

You can read everywhere about top 10 starting hands or their favorite hands. This is about the best low card starting hands.

There is always the concept that the game is won by having superior cards like pocket aces. Sure, those are nice to have but it also provide a lot more head banging moments and tilt when you get beaten, and especially when you know you are beaten by can not fold the hand. Don't just wait for those premium hand to arrive and practically give hints on what you have.

The Nine Ten Suited

I will start off with the best. This is one of those hands where overplaying the hand will provide more reward than risk. High chance of hitting something or possible drawing on the turn/river without your opponents know what you have. The power of the nine ten suited increase exponentially when it is a home game/ cash game. The possibilities of draws, redraws and potential nuts will open up creative business talk as well. People will say that Ten Jack is better but once you go into realm of face cards; you might as well leave it to your JQ, JK, KQ suited and etc.

The Daniel/John Hand

Another good hand is 57 or 64 suited. A tad biased because it is one of my favorite hands and I have seen Daniel Negreanu and John Juanda do wonders with them. The key is the separation of numbers. Anything lower than a 46 suited is doom to fail(23,24,35,45 suited) and anything over 75 suited is at risk of being beaten by 8Ten,89 and of course the Nine Ten suited. It is best to cold call a raise and see where you are at on the flop. These type of hands make it easier to fold when you completely miss.

Low Pairs
Any pocket pair below nines are great for just calling a raise. Never need to raise or play aggressive. All you should be do is calling to have a chance to hit your trip or if your lucky enough. Open ended straight draw.

This was an idea brainstormed during a home game between several college students. This is all fun and humor, please don't take this too seriously.
