Breaking Local News: 2 Schoolgirls & 4 Robbers: Robbers Lose

There are either two very brave young girls or four pretty stupid robbers in Oklahoma City. Maybe it's some of both. Two young school girls are credited with assisting police with the break up of a robbery ring in Oklahoma City. The girls were home from school for the first day of their spring break on Monday, March 16th. They heard the robbers break into their home so they fled to the back of the house to their mother's bedroom.

First reports are that they couldn't lock the door to the bedroom so they blocked it off. At the same time, they made two telephone calls. One call was to 911 and they called their mother who was at work. The whole time while they hid in the bedroom, they were on the telephone with the police and their mother.

Their mother, Lakisha Golson, was interviewed after the police arrested the robbers. She said she immediately drove home when the girls called. She started honking her horn when she got there. The robbery happened in broad daylight around southwest 45th and Agnew Street. Destiny Golson is one of the young ladies involved in the incident. She looks to be in grade school and she certainly has something to tell her schoolmates when spring break is over.

She and the other young lady are two very brave and very responsible young ladies. During her interview, Destiny seemed confident and brave. We look forward to hearing more about her, the other young lady and their mother.

After the arrest, the police looked in the robbers' car. When they found tons of items ranging from "lots of rings, jewelry, computers and a gun," they suspected this is a burglary ring. There have been a series of home burglaries for several weeks in southwest Oklahoma City.

This burglary ring consists of two women and two men. Two of the robbers are brother and sister. All of them have now been arrested for receiving and concealing. The police are hoping to return the stolen items to their owners. And they credit the two young ladies for breaking the burglary ring.

This is a breaking news story so watch here for updates as details emerge. These two young ladies are heroes. They have a lot to share with kids about how to react in an emergency situation. Oklahoma City is proud of them. Two young school girls that break a burglary ring of four adults is quite a heroic feat. We are sure many of us want to hear more from these young ladies.

Oklahoma City police have released this number to report robberies in the area. It is 405-235-7300. Hopefully, this number will help them find the owners of the items found in the late-model, red car the burglary ring used. One lady already reported her wedding ring which was stolen. However, it was not among the items found in the car.
