Breaking the Myth: Eye Creams

You use them, your mom uses them, your grandma uses them, your grandma's mom used them, and so the trend continues. The eye cream phenomenon has been going on for far longer than I've been alive. But are eye creams really worth your money?

You probably already know face cream differs from the average body lotion, right? If you don't know, Body cream tends to be a lot heavier in texture than face cream. Why? The face needs a lighter formula than the body because the body takes twice the beating as your face does everyday.

Why is it not good to use body lotion on your face? There is no rule that says you can not use body lotion on your face but beware if you do. Since body lotion is heavier than face lotion, you could end up with clogged pores, hence causing you many more problems than dry skin.

Back to eye bream. It has clinically been proven that eye cream actually does not differ to that of face lotion (cream). There are no magical remedies that will help your eyes anymore than what your face cream will.

The only evidence of difference detected is the fact eye cream comes in tiny-enormously priced containers and face creams come in much larger-economically prices containers. But there is absolutely no proof or scientific evidence of any sort that says eye creams have special eye caring ingredients.

There could be different ingredients in different eye creams, but this is the same for facial lotions. The thing is, eye creams do not have any different potion. Everything will be the same depending on what eye cream you are comparing to face cream.

If you are looking into getting a face cream with say green tea or something added to it, take a look around for eye creams with the same. I guarantee you will find some. You may see some ingredients that do not match up, but this does not mean that the eye cream will work wonders on your eyes more than the face cream. This simply means that the eye cream has basically everything the face cream has but a couple different ingredients were added or removed.

So the next time you go to buy facial care products, put back the eye cream, grab a well formulated face cream for your skin type, and keep some of your money.
