Brittany Murphy Autopsy - Prescription Drug Intoxification Played Role in Her Death
Brittany Murphy's drug abuse was talked about by her friends after she died. Many had said that her moods were all over the place and suspected the young actress was abusing some type of substance. "Prescription drugs" is what the coroner said, but the names of the drugs were not provided. The exact names of the drugs will be released after the complete report has been done. This could take several more weeks. A spokesman for the coroner's office, Craig Harvey would not give out any more information.
Brittany Murphy was the 32 year old actress of the hit movies, "clueless" and "8 Mile" along with many others who died on December 20th. She collapsed at home in her bathroom and despite attempts at reviving her by her husband and mother, she was pronounced dead.
Her mother and husband still adamantly deny that Brittany ever abused drugs. Simon Monjack has said all along that his wife did take prescription drugs but never abused them. Both he and Brittany's mother report Brittany had been suffering from flue like symptoms before her death in December and that she had been taking an over the counter cold medicine.
The former chief medical examiner in NYC, Dr Michael Baden, reports that the drugs probably played a key roll in Brittany's death by what he has heard from the coroner's determinations. He said that even thought pneumonia is a natural cause of death, some prescription drugs can lead to pneumonia. He concluded with saying that the coroner might have listed pneumonia as the primary cause of death because it will "lesson the blow" on Brittany's family. Baden said it sounded more like a drug related death than death from natural pulmonary pneumonia. Baden has been an expert witness on many high profile deaths, and although he has not worked on Brittany's death investigation, this is what his experience is leading him to suggest.
A memorial for a foundation in Brittany Murphy's name was planned for today and it has been abruptly canceled with out explanation.
