Breaking News: Iran Election Leads to Revolt Seen on YouTube

Check YouTube to see how the revolt after the Iran election is going. You are seeing history in the making. Although the Iranian government shut down all communications, some cell phones, Twitter and videos are making it out.

The key force is the Millennials, the same who elected Barack Obama, who may oust Ahmadinejad in Iran. They want freedom, happiness and hope. Technology has indeed changed the world. Although time will tell if this Iran rebellion is successful, it is apparent that many desire change from the old regime, whether it's in America or Iran.

The Millennials even stood up to the religious cleric in Iran which is unprecedented. What's interesting is with technology how organized they are and they keep catching the "old" guard by surprise. What's next for Iran is anyone's guess but we will see it broadcast around the world via cell phones, Twitter and YouTube.

It's the first time in history we can see a revolt as it happens. Hours ago a Twitter message asked everyone in Tehran to go to their rooftops and shout protests. The comments under the YouTube video are from around the world. Iran history and technology history from the Iranian election is happening right before our eyes.

As of writing this article, none of the major stations such as CBS, NBC or Fox are carrying this message. It isn't in any of the newspapers such as New York Times and Wall Street Journal or no Associated Press articles at this point. This information is coming from Twitter and YouTube. The latest news article I could find on the Internet was posted 3 hours ago.

In 3 hours, Iran could be free, a bloodbath, a continued revolt or shut-down. Who knows? But not only is a rebellion taking place in Iran, technology is changing how all organizations operate. Technology changes who get the information, how it's disseminated and is bringing the world together.

Iran's rebellion is our Boston Tea Party. One wonders how many other countries will follow suit? Cell phones are across the world. Maybe in Africa they are watching the Iran rebellion on their cell phones.

I just checked the Internet again.....Huffington Post just submitted a story at 10:12 PM. It's a live blogger from Iran who says the last twitter message was 30 minutes ago. They said they had to hide out because the police were looking for satellite dishes. And they are saying the Mousavi Camp announced he is under house arrest. Great reporting on the iran protests.

US news and even world news at times is far more concerned about Brittany's haircut and shopping mall shop lifters. They of course excuse themselves proclaiming to not want to interfere with diplomatic relations, etc...etc...when in reality they are just puppets on a string that report (if you can call it that) on bogus useless information far more than the true things at hand.Tank Man is not revered necessarily as a hero but he most certainly was.

Excellent report. Don't surprise me, though, that the major media outlets declined to cover this; such demonstrable bravery might encourage Americans to stand in revolt against a government who has been ignoring their wishes for decades, and we couldn't have that, now!

It is a theocracy, of course there is fraud, danger, and death. Did anyone actually believe that they were going to have a fair election?

    Thanks for the update!

    Frightening but hopeful!

    Not to discount Twitter, either.

This is an example of how censorship can't keep up with modern or alternative technology. In this instance, I have to say YouTube has some distinct advantages (even though one has to try to filter out distorted tapes from the official or real ones)
