Breaking News: President Obama Wants to Be Billy Mays!

Scotty Starnes
With the sad news of hearing about the death of the great product spokesman, Billy Mays, President Obama is stepping into the role as sales man-in-chief. The similarities between the two are there. Both loved being in front of the camera, using their voice to sell products to the American public.

Billy Mays was different from Obama in many forms. The main difference was that Billy Mays only pitched those products he totally believed worked and would in some way benefit the people. Obama is trying to sell us snake oil.

Once again, Obama held a town hall meeting to try and sell his product he calls health care reform. This town hall meeting was another attempt from Obama to pitch his Obamacare product. He has been on television promoting his product more that the sham wow guy.

The sales man-in-chief held his town hall meeting on health care reform at Northern Virginia Community College, in Annandale, Virginia. It was another high-pressure, all the chips are on the table, sales pitch for Obamacare.

From the outset of his speech, the sales man-in-chief went into full campaign mode, by immediately thanking Governor Tim Kaine, who just happens to be the chairman of the DNC, along with Congressmen Bobby Scott, Jim Moran and Gerry Connolly, for doing a great job. Then Obama started his sales pitch with doom and gloom. Have you heard this pitch before?

"We're living through extraordinary times...I don't need to tell you. This generation of Americans...our generation...has been called to confront challenges of a magnitude that we have not seen in decades, perhaps unlike anything we've seen in recent history... challenges that few generations of Americans are asked to face. In addition to the immediate threats that we face...we've got two wars going on and a very deep recession...our economy has also been weakened by problems that have plagued us for decades: the crushing cost of health care, the state of our schools, our continuing dependence on foreign oil."

Now you see how Obama always ties each of his policies into the doom and gloom sales pitch. Every sales pitch starts with grandiosity, describing what dire times we find ourselves in. Never does he mention that his own policies is the reason for the times. Never.

In every sales pitch, Obama actually tells a few truths. Take this phrase from the sales pitch. Obama said, "Now, I know there are some who say we can't tackle all of these problems; it's too much; Congress can't handle it; the President is juggling too many things; my administration is taking on too much too soon; we're moving too fast."

That statement is a fact. At a time where our economy continues to sink and his policies are a main force behind the sinking, Obama continues to suffer from ADHD. Remember the old adage: "Its the economy stupid?" This should be Obama's only concern in 2009.

"What I say is that America has waited long enough for action on these issues. It's not too soon to fix our schools when we know that if our children are not prepared they are not going to compete in the 21st century. It's not too soon to wean ourselves off of dirty sources of energy so that we can grab hold of a clean energy future. We've been talking about clean energy since Richard Nixon. And it's time for us to act. And I congratulate, by the way, the House of Representatives for beginning action this past week on a historic clean energy bill."

Again, in the phrase above, Obama attempts to trick the public. This sales pitch is about Obamacare. This is another attempt to wave one hand to distract your attention while the other hand is doing something else. Our sale man-in-chief does this in every speech.

Obama continued to say "We are at a defining moment for this nation. If we act now, then we can rebuild our economy in a way that makes it strong, competitive, sustainable and prosperous once more. We can lead this century the same way that we led the last century. But if we don't act, if we let this moment pass, we could see this economy just sputter along for decades -- a slow, steady decline in which the chances for our children and our grandchildren are fewer than the opportunities that were given to us."

He has acted and nothing has happened. He used the same sales pitch for the "stimulus" plan. How has that worked out?

Just today, the unemployment rate hit a 26 year high at 9.5 percent. Press Secretary Robert Gibbs admitted today that there is no doubt that unemployment will hit 10 percent. How is Obama's stimulus plan working?

And you can never go wrong when you speak about the well-being of our children. However, Obama fails to mention that he is the soul responsible for putting a burden upon our children and future grandchildren.

The stimulus plan is a huge failure. 9.5 percent unemployment with job loses of 467,000 in the month of June. So, officially we are out of 4.4 million jobs. How is the "create and or save jobs" working for you now sales man-in-chief?

Another slight-of-hand trick Obama has been using is allowing White House officials to screen each member of the audience and each question to be asked. Obama then claims that he does not know what questions will be asked. The Associated Press pointed out a huge lie.

President Obama decided to pull a woman out of the audience because she says she has cancer and can't get insurance. What you didn't know and according to The Associated Press is that this same woman is a volunteer for Obama's Organizing for America campaign. It wasn't a random person, she actually got her tickets from the White House.

Rush the plan, lie about the plan and then lie to the American public as you pitch your plan is the modus operandi for Obama. The sales pitch is growing old, repetitive and tiresome. I already miss Billy Mays...R.I.P.

I was loving this until ya got to quoting the speech our "Prevaricator-in-Chief" used for his sales pitch. Then I hurled all over my laptop. Now my laptop looks like my formerly awesome nation - smelly, foul and just plain ugly. I miss Billy Mays too! Ya think we could get some of that "Mighty Putty" Billy used to hawk in order to close Obama's leaky orifices? Would he back up filled with his own BS and then explode? On can only hope! LOL
