Breast Cancer Awareness Events in Tallahassee and Southern Alabama

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and it is a time full of breast cancer awareness events throughout the country. These events raise awareness for the prevention of breast cancer and resources for the treatment of breast cancer. One of the simplest things that we can all do is to wear a pink ribbon. Here are some of the other events for Breast Cancer Awareness Month in northern Florida and Alabama.

Tallahassee, FL

Florida State University has launched an awareness campaign to let people know that men can get breast cancer, too. William JP Smith Jr. was a graduate of Florida State University. He had moved away and then returned. He had been diagnosed with breast cancer. This sparked an alliance with the goal of educating people about how breast cancer can affect anyone.

The Breast Cancer Research Foundation of Alabama is also having a Pink Palace Casino Night. This sounds like one us guys could enjoy as well. It will be held at the Hilton Birmingham Perimeter Park. Tickets to the Casino Night are $75.00. High stakes no-limit poker is $500. There is also a junior poker game for $200. The nice thing about a game like this is that no matter how it turns out, there really are no losers. Everybody wins with such a great cause.
