When a woman first gets the news that she has breast cancer she is in shock. Often she is surrounded by family and friends who mean the world to her and just want to give support but unless they have been there personally she finds herself needing more. This is where breast cancer support groups come into play. Online Support groups for breast cancer are often a life line a woman needs most desperately. The following five online support groups will give you a start in finding supportive places to find help and friendship if you have been diagnosed with Breast Cancer.

Breast Cancer Support.org is the first breast cancer support group on our list. This online group is for all women who have breast cancer. There are active discussion topics in the forum and so many conversations going on the message boards you will immediately feel welcome and safe on your journey for breast cancer support. Another great online support group for breast cancer is Breast Cancer.org. This breast cancer support group has discussion boards, with many topics and posts to read over. Here is where you can submit questions as well. There is a chat room that is real time chat where you can talk with others and share experiences and treatment options. One of the major online support groups for breast cancer is the Susan G. Komen for the Cure group. This breast cancer support group is for breast cancer patients and their friends and families which is also important to a breast cancer patient. They support a nationwide event called the Race for the Cure this website has educational information including download videos and a very active online community. This online community is for those who are diagnosed with breast cancer as well as family and friends.

The American Cancer Society Reach to Recovery is another great online support group for breast cancer victims. This breast cancer support group is geared towards women and men who have now or in the past had breast cancer. Here you will be paired with another person who is also diagnosed with breast cancer and has been through treatment and is into their survivorship. The last of the online support groups for breast cancer on our list is the Dana Faber Cancer Institute. This group is for women who have breast cancer and are also parents. This is a great group for parents in that they will show you ways to discuss your illness with your children, and help you to learn how to discuss and answer your children's many questions.
