Breathe at Night Intense Hydration Body Cream - the Wonders of Shea

Lori Leidig
I have neglected my elbows. I admit it. I never really looked at them that close, not being a contortionist and all. That is, until I saw a little jar of Breathe at Night Intense Hydration Body Cream at Bath & Body Works one day. I mean, I'd been using body creams before this, but not any specifically for night hydration. What ever was I thinking? This stuff is a welcome addition to my skin cream obsession.

At 50, my skin is aging. Couple that with life in Sweden's dry climate and well, yeah. Lotions are everywhere in our house. Lars half-jokingly remarked the other day that we will soon need to purchase an entire new suitcase just for my damn lotions, bath supplies, and makeup. Still. Even if I take his quips to heart and try to get my supplies down to bare basics, this Breath at Night will stay with me.

I mentioned elbows. That was the first area of vast improvement I noticed after using this Breathe at Night Intense Hydration Body Cream the first few days. Not that I had looked, but I could feel the new smoothness as I rubbed lotion on my arms. You know those expensive face moisturizers that leave this remarkable softness? This stuff is like that, but for the body. Heavenly.

Shea Butter is mixed with water, glycerin, olive oil, and a buncha other stuff for optimal hydration. The scent of Shea is subtle in the Breathe at Night Intense Hydration Body Cream. I love the smell of Shea, personally, but I know that some folks do not. Don't let that stop ya from purchasing this little 50ml jar of wonders. It's a mere $6 for this size, and doesn't take up very much space when traveling.

The other scents mingling with the Shea are Lavender and Vanilla Milk. Together it just makes for a pleasingly subtle smell which has the added benefit of relaxing me and helping me sleep.

The cream itself is white and luxuriously thick, yet it does not take much at all to coat my body (except feet, hands, and face...I have separate lotions for those areas.) (bite me, I'm a girrrl.) Since it takes just a smidgeon of this Breath At Night to coat a large area, this small jar is all I really need on our trips. I will, however, be buying the biggest possible jar to keep at home.

The Breathe at Night Intense Hydration Body Cream jar is a deep navy blue, so you won't accidently get it mixed up with your day creams if you keep them on the nightstand like I do. My Breath Deep Nourishment Body Cream is my standard daytime cream and is a nice pretty light blue jar of the same size. Easy to tell them apart. Not that anything bad would happen if you did mix them up, you understand... but, well, you wimins know what I'm sayin' here, right? heh.

Five full stars for the Breathe at Night Intense Hydration Body Cream from Bath & Body Works. I got very noticable improvement with the first application, and it just keeps on getting better and better.

I too find Shea works and my elbows are a mess in part from resting them on my computer desk all to often, I'm in denial of the age factor. I need something that works. Thanks for the review!

Wonder how old Susan Slade is, um... As a kid I noticed my sister's (not the one that little sister's are not allowed to slap for blacking out all the good parts of books) elbows. That made me take care of mine so they did not look like that. Been a while now, tho', since I have actually looked at mine. I do have a body lotion, creme, aromatic bath oil (even tho' I prefer showers) fetish. I am definitely one of those people that fall for the pretty packaging, colors, and yeah, words. But I do open the bottles that are openable to smell and love places like Body & Bath where you can test everything.

I love shea butter. I buy an Olay body wash that has it in it because my skin drys out so bad in the winter. Great review!

I have to lotion up in the winter, but rarely my whole body. It would drive me nuts to have to put stuff all over every night. This sounds like a great product, however. Great review :)
