Bree Olson Turns PETA on as a Lettuce Lady

When Charlie Sheen took over the United States media with his poetic rants and disagreements with the producer of the television show "Two And A Half Men," two attractive ladies he dubbed "the goddesses" were pushed into the spotlight as well. A factoid about one of the ladies, well-known porn actress Bree Olson, slipped through all of the madness and caught my attention. Bree Olson is on the record as being a vegan and PETA name her as an honorary "Lettuce Lady." Firstly, I decided to figure out what a Lettuce Lady was and then to see if other notable celebrities shared the honor with Bree Olson.

PETA Lettuce Ladies appear to be attractive women supporting animal rights and non-meat diets. They raise awareness to such things by wearing bikinis seemingly made out of lettuce leaves. I live in Santa Barbara, California and recall seeing a news blurb about some Lettuce Ladies hanging around downtown. PETA is using strong sex appeal to make meat look bad.

Aside from Bree Olson, there are many Lettuce Lady models who are not "known" names in Hollywood circles. However, as of this writing there are other celebrity models donning lettuce and I bet there will be plenty more. Actress Elizabeth Berkley has been called "the original" lettuce lady. She has ads promoting vegetarianism in which she wears a dress made of lettuce. PETA explains on their website that Elizabeth helped send these ads around to restaurants and that she has been vegetarian all of her life. Elizabeth Berkley in case you did not grow up in the era of "Saved By The Bell" was Jessie on that show. She then grew up and went sex crazy in the NC-17 rated movie "Showgirls," an instant cheesy classic.

Pamela Anderson is another Lettuce Lady! You know her from a slew of television shows and Playboy pictorials. Well, she traded in her red "Baywatch" swimming suit for a lettuce bikini in a PETA ad hoping to inspire people to "turn a new leaf." Her Lettuce Lady profile on the PETA website tells how Pamela Anderson is specifically disgusted with the animal killing practices of the fast food chain KFC; Kentucky Fried Chicken.

Jayde Nicole, a Playboy Playmate of the year, has also donned a lettuce bikini for the PETA cause. She and Playboy Cyber Girl of the Year Jo Garcia have a pictorial on the PETA website, showing off their bodies in the green and serving tofu hot dogs.

PETA should definitely have your undivided male attention with these Lettuce Lady advertisements, and Bree Olson is a looker for sure, making the army of green stronger. But what about eye candy for women? PETA does have a section for the "Broccoli Boys," but it's not as awe inspiring or popular a section. Perhaps Bree Olson can convince Charlie Sheen to become a Broccoli Boy?
