Brennan and Booth's Relationship on Fox Series 'Bones'

FOX network's popular show, "Bones," features Emily Deschanel as forensic anthropologist Temperance Brennan, and David Boreanaz as FBI agent Seeley Booth. In the pilot episode, Booth uses Brennan (whom he calls "Bones") in a case, and she and her lab crew, the "Squints," end uppermanently assigned to help him with any case in which he needs. But what about Brennan and Bones? They seem like total opposites, but opposites can attract. Following are some of the episodes that feature moments of emotional intimacy or bonding of the pair.

Season 1, Episode 22, "The Woman in Limbo." Brennan realizes that a Jane Doe Angie and Zack have been working on is her mother; she also recognizes a belt buckle from the evidence bag. She is very upset and goes home alone. Booth comes to bring comfort, Chinese take-out, and new information about her parents.

Season 2, Episode 21, "Stargazer in a Puddle." While most of this episode focuses on the murder of a young woman with an aging disease found dead in a flooded basement, there is a close moment at the end. Booth and Brennan go to the wedding of Hodgins and Angela. Angela and Hodgins, however, take off to Fiji, leaving Booth and Brennan together at the altar. Look closely at their expressions.

Season 3, Episode 9, "The Baby in the Bough." After finding a baby alive in a car-seat stuck in a tree at the site of a car crash, Brennan takes care of the infant until they can retrieve the key he swallowed (think about it). While first treating the baby like some sort of strange new animal, Brennan soon begins to bond with him, and Booth shares his feelings for his son, being raised by his ex, with her. When they find the mother's identity and some living relatives, Brennan reluctantly returns the baby. Booth comforts her feelings of loss as she considers having a child of her own.

Season 3, Episode 15, "The Pain in the Heart." The episode begins with Brennan tending a dying Booth. After this scene, the Squints convince Brennan to go to the graveside service. At the service, she finds that Booth is really alive, after he attacks a watcher, so she punches him. Sweets confronts her, and points out that she wasn't angry with Booth for not telling her he wasn't really dead, but for forcing her to face feelings she would rather have kept buried.

Season 4, Episode 26, "The End in the Beginning." This episode begins with Brennan crawling into Booth's bed. Viewers quickly recognize that this is some alternate universe, because all the show's characters are there, but their roles are very different. Brennan and Booth own a nightclub and are happily married. As the story within the story ends, Brennan sits in a hospital room with her laptop as Booth lies in the hospital bed, unconscious. As he begins to wake up, she deletes the book she's just finished, and he starts to tell her about the strange dream he had.

Season 5, Episode 22, "The Beginning in the End." The team breaks up as Booth agrees to rejoin the military to train soldiers in Iraq, and Brennan accepts a grant to study a hitherto unknown culture in situ. They admit that they have feelings for each other, but Brennan says she isn't ready to commit to him, that her work is more important. They agree to meet in the same spot, the Reflecting Pool in the Capitol Mall.

When Season 6 begins, Booth and Brennan meet at the Reflecting Pool. After Brennan explains she had no time to meet anyone, Booth tells her about a woman he met and fell in love with, journalist Hannah Burley. Hannah will be moving in with him. Brennan takes this well, but in Episode 9 ("The Doctor in the Photo"), after becoming too involved in a case with a victim whose life was much like Brennan's own, she admits to Booth that she loves him. Booth tells her that he is in love with Hannah, and she needs to move on. Since Hannah's role is recurring, not permanent, all may be well for viewers wanting a Brennan-Booth relationship. Keep watching Fox on Thursdays, 9 ET, to see if or how the relationships change.

I need to start watching this again! I forgot how good it is, but then I get hooked on American Idol , etc and lose contact with other great shows.
