Despite his recent near death experiences, Bret Michaels had enough "giddy-up" to perform at the St. Louis Rib America Festival on Saturday, May 29, 2010. The all day event featured bands like L.A. Guns and Dokken before The Bret Michaels Band appeared on stage as the main event. The mild crowd waited patiently for the historical 80's rocker to appear on stage. When he bounced onto the stage, the crowd went crazy. Bret gave it everything he had, holding nothing back. Considering what Bret has been through in recent weeks, his performance was high energy and amazing to see. He had his hips swaying and displayed a rendition of his notorious "tour bus thrust," a seductive move he created in his 24 hour fitness routine during the Celebrity Apprentice (Season 9, Episode 7). While Bret was on stage, he disclosed several secrets about his future agenda.

In the Spring of 2010, Bret Michaels, VH1, and 51 Minds filmed a new documentary reality series called Bret Michaels: Life As I Know It. Production of the reality show began just before his health took a turn for the worse, but Bret said the show would go on and the fans in the audience would be a part of the show. Camera's from the stage and in the crowd filmed his fans as they yelled and cheered for the walking miracle rocker.

In April, after a concert in Houston Bret's appendix burst and he underwent an emergency appendectomy. Two weeks after that he suffered a massive brain hemorrhage that nearly killed him during the production break of Celebrity Apprentice. Doctors said it was a miracle he pulled through. In May, Bret won the Celebrity Apprentice and appeared on the final show regardless of his doctor's recommendations. The hard core, dedicated rocker was back on stage with the season finale of American Idol where he then performed with Casey James, one of the remaining 3 final idol contestants.

In May of 2010, Bret was on the cover of People Magazine and recounted his hospital experience. After spending just 10 days in the ICU, Bret managed to make a full recovery from a medical incident that less than 10 to 20 percent of people ever recover from. With the media eyes on Bret, it was the perfect opportunity for him to promote his summer tour. He appeared on the tonight show with Jay Leno and then on Oprah to tell of his entire ordeal.

Once Bret was on stage in St. Louis (just the second stop of his summer schedule), he was extremely loose lipped about his upcoming endeavors. He promoted his new VH1 series, which aired the first 30-minute episode on Memorial Day. He talked about the possibility of a new Rock of Love series and also disclosed that he was interested in perusing the former judging position of Simon Cowell on American Idol. At the end of his concert he said his fans could look forward to seeing him as the new judge on the show, which sounded pretty concrete.

Bret Michaels is an amazing man. He is determined and strong willed and will be able to pull through anything. His dedication to his work and fans is unbelievable and his popularity is growing by leaps and bounds since his appearance on the Celebrity Apprentice. He is living proof that "ROCK AND ROLL NEVER DIES!"
