Bret Michaels Update: Respecting Family, Hacking to Share Wasted Time

Pete Sets it Straight on BretMichaels.Com

Less than one week ago Bret Michaels entered into the ICU surrounding a brain hemorrhage. Less than a week later Pete sets it straight in a heartfelt update for the world to read and hear, even if it meant hacking a song into the web site main frame. Jenna, the web site spokesperson, and Pete are close to Bret Michaels and both encourage respect during this difficult time.

Pete Evick, friend and guitarist for BMB (short for Bret Michaels Band), released a personal message suggesting what everyone knows - the press can create quite a fiasco over Bret Michaels condition. When running across the headline predicting Bret Michaels would die, no ands, ifs, or buts, I fell out of my seat. Why? Because if you haven't read my works before when it comes to a brain hemorrhage there's always that chance of survival - some of my writing partners know this well.

Pete's concerned for the family's sake. He has a great point.

"This is a time for family, a time for healing and a time for love. It is out of respect first and foremost for his precious daughters, their mother and the immediate family that none of us say anything." Pete then goes to share that it's not fun for anyone to read incorrect information twisted by a simple update.

Pete supplies background information surrounding over 5 years with the Poison frontman. The loyalty of friendship deemed golden - a true give and take - unconditionally. Pete also reminds many of the warrior, the soldier, the fighter inside of Michaels. And Pete, as many, expect nothing less during the most important war of survival. Bret Michaels has been through a lot including the much publicized diabetes battle.

Pete adds a musician's goal and ultimate wish - to give the gift of music. So Pete plugs in the Custom Built record with a track called Wasted Time. But what is the true message to this new piece? Pete finds a big part of Bret tucked throughout the song as a reminder of his great friend Bret Michaels.

The only problem with Pete's final message is that he hacked into the web site to offer a taste in the audio but the music does not load as suggested. So, we took a trip to the link for music merchandise instead. The page did not load, perhaps too much traffic. We reloaded, no dice. We closed the page down and there appeared an emblem on the black box where the song was to load - but nothing was heard. Maybe at this time to search the main casing of BretMichaels.com for that new song is just that, wasted time.

We couldn't track down the song through YouTube.com. However, we did run across, ironic enough, Fuel's Wasted Time and Hemorrhage. You can also visit Smug Mug Pro for photos of Evick, BMB, and Meridian.

When entering BretMichaels.com there is a note on the top of the page for all to read.

"Due to Bret's recent hospitalization, our web site is experiencing delays and outages." Below that are destination links to various locations, all Bret.

UPDATE: BretMichaels.com released further information that Michaels suffered a "setback" from a side effect surrounding the brain hemorrhage. Doctors discovered Michaels developed hyponatremia due to a lack of sodium in his body. Hyponatremia can lead to seizures. Doctors anticipate more information within a week. BretMichaels.com suggests the next update to be next Monday. Good thing is no word of an operation has been released.

UPDATE: RadarOnline.com shares of Michaels' publicist releasing the information that Michaels has been upgraded to stable from critical. However, as the day progressed Michaels' road manager released that there were setbacks with possible seizures connected. Again, for more information it's better to await word from BretMichaels.com or a statement released by the family.
